Very experienced traveler here, have been to the poorest countries in the world and do not ask for much nor complain, but THIS WAS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING TRIP EVER. Booked this trip for the babymoon. Specifically selected an Adults Only hotel and booked a beachfront room. WE DID NOT GET A BEACHFRONT ROOM - there was sand when we walked out, sure, but it wasn't a beach. it was just a sandy area with trees and a hammock. The room is filled with bugs, including the bed. Not bed bugs, but still lots of bugs. The room we got was located closer to the dining and bar area so all day and especially evening we heard lots of clanking of dishes/glasses being cleaned or organized. Absolutely impossible to get any rest or relaxation - which was the whole point of this trip. The pool was green and filthy so the only option if you did want to dip in was to go to their next door sister hotel which had a beautifully cleaned pool - but as that one is a family friendly resort with lots of children - it negated the whole purpose of spending extra on an Adults Only hotel. Also, if you like to have a good breakfast, please do not count on eating here. Lastly, the included breakfast buffet is just an assortment of fruit and breads. Nothing else. You can order other breakfast dishes that start at $20, which was fine for us, but its clear that they did this simply to check "breakfast included" mark. I would not come back here even if they offered a free stay. A very poor representation of the island

All of the staff at Muri Beachcomber were extremely friendly and helpful. The view of the lagoon was stunning from our villa. You are literally steps from the water. They also have plenty of snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boat, etc equipment for you to use. There was a good amount of shops and resteraunts within walking distance. Everything in the villa was clean and comfortable. I would definently recommend Muri Beachcomber to anyone staying on Rarotonga
Had a wonderful 12 night stay. 10 nights in Garden and 2 beach front, both comfortable and lovely accomodations. The Staff and all the Cook Islanders were very nice, helpful and friendly. Thanks to Betsy for a great place to vacation Next trip to Palm Grove - hopefully for 25 nights!!

We liked this resort for its simplicity but mostly its cost. We knew we would only be there at night to sleep, and out during the day doing activities so we did not require much of our room. The room was cleaned daily to a superb standard. Free breakfast daily was a decent amount of food with lovely fresh fruit. We met a lovely couple honeymooning the same time as we where there we became great friends with. The highlight of our stay at the resort was when managment asked us if we would consider moving into the honeymooners resort with them so that they could rent out our room to someone else!! We all laughed hysterically but replied that no, we would not be changing rooms. Cocktail hour was fantastic every night. We would sit on the deck and watch whales swim right by the resort - truly amazing. The room itself was quite sufficient. we had two single beds strapped together to make a king. unfortunately the bedstraps would not stay so by the middle of the night we were back into two single beds with a sheet in the middle waving in the breeze. Speaking of breeze - the air con in the room was fantastic!!! included in the price too!

Our first visit to Rarotanga, The hosts were there to greet us when we arrived and were very informative of any information we needed. Even offered to drive us to pick up a rental car. The resort was quiet and very private. Very seldom saw other guests except at the group bbq or breakfast provided by the hosts. Great pool that we had to ourselves several evenings. We were provided with a local paper every morning on our veranda. Great location on the Island and within walking distance to restraunts and the local market. We were able to walk out the door of our room onto the beach for some of the best snorkeling to be found. The reef also made for a great snorkeling area. We were able to see a georgeous sunrise from our beach each morning but had to drive a short distance to see the sunset. Very freindly locals and always offering for us to join in on local activities. English is the main language,
3.0 LOVED THE COOKS ! Edgewater Resort Hotel just OK
The Front desk and all staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. We had a few minor issues but they were dealt with immediately to our satisfaction. The location of this resort is excellent with a nice beach and great for snorkeling but the pool is very small and always filled with children. There were some couples, lots of friends celebrating different occasions, but I think this would be best described as family resort. \nWe went to Island Nite at the resort and the show and buffet food was excellent, however, when we went to have lunch the service was slow and the food was bad. How can you ruin a bacon/tomato sandwich? \nThe drink prices for cocktails were the most expensive we saw anywhere on the Cook Islands...twice as much as what we would pay in Vancouver. $20.00 NZ for a Pina Colada ??? \n \nThe standard prices for cocktails at other places was $12.50 . They did have a Happy Hour from 5:00 - 6:00 when the cocktails were $10.00, but we did not find we spent much time at our hotel bar but frequented others which were more reasonably priced. \n \n We had a beachfront room in Block 400, which had a beautiful view of the ocean, palm trees, etc. We requested a beachfront room in the new section (4000, 5000, 6000) but were told they were all sold out. Our room was kept very clean by our maid, but the resort is looking very tired, and rooms need an overhaul to be more than a 3 star property. The Edgewater had a great activities director who gave us our Orientation to the Cook Islands and he was always available for questions and had very helpful information. Other more modern properties to stay at close by.
