"Our room was a bit of hike up the stairs and no a/c, but it was a cute room and we were offered a fan to help beat the heat. Very nice staff and great location, the restaurant attached to the hotel is a must eat, best gnocchi I have ever had and our waitress Sheila was absolutely lovely."

"The staff at this hotel were excellent. Having two pools was a bonus as you could use the indoor pool when the outdoor pool was busy. The absence of a bar was a slight disappointment and the rooms were small even by European norms. Dated TVs meant no connectivity of maps.... but who goes on holiday to watch TV? Breakfast was very good too. The location (approx. 200m from Paradiso train station) made things very easy Tip: the number 2 bus will take you from the hotel (stop next to the supermarket) up the hill to the station, else it is a steep trek with luggage. The hotel is also alongside the funicular for Monte San Salvatore Watching the sunset from 900m+ is awesome (and you can buy a beer up there too!) And as with nearly every other hotel in the area, you get a Ticino Ticket that gives you free public transport (except for the ferries) in the Ticino region. We had such a great time we stayed an extra night. Our thanks to the staff at Hotel Admiral."
