Hurray for Universal Studios Hollywood! Between attractions like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Super Silly Fun Land, and Jurassic World The Ride, not to mention its proximity to twisty Mulholland Drive, Griffith Park, and Hollywood itself, it’s no wonder the theme park (and working movie studio) is a focal point for visiting families. In a sprawling city boasting hundreds of accommodations, here are 6 kid-friendly hotels to book for your next Universal Studios vacation.

Other amenities at this upscale hotel include stellar views of the Hollywood Hills, an outdoor swimming pool set upon lovely, palm tree-studded grounds, and room categories that come with sofa beds. BONUS: Go car free in La La Land! The Sheraton Universal Hotel
Another hotel with a perfect location, The Sheraton Universal Hotel is just a minute away from the park by car, and only a few miles away from Warner Bros. Studios and the Hollywood Bowl. The Garland
At The Garland you get two vacations in one: An LA getaway and a Palm Springs escape. Opened in 1970 by actress Beverly Garland and boasting a joyous retro vibe, the Garland makes you feel like you’re in a mid-century oasis (without having to trek two hours out to the desert), while still being just a stone’s throw from the park and close to other Valley attractions, including restaurant and shop-filled Ventura and Lankershim Boulevards. Kids will love the swimming pool, grassy green space, and the family suites which include bunk bed nooks just for them. Hop on the Garland’s own trolley which shuttles families between the hotel, Universal Studios, and the the Metro red line station.
BLVD Studio City
How old are your kids? While this boutique hotel in the San Fernando Valley doesn’t boast the kind of gargantuan outdoor swimming pool (there is a small, indoor pool) or “kids club” features that little ones love, But BLVD does a few things going for it. For starters, it’s within walking distance to the park—as in a 7-minute walk. Secondly, Blvd Studio City is located right on Ventura Boulevard (hence the name), which means it’s within walking distance to a Ralph’s grocery store and numerous fast-food restaurants, including In-N-Out Burger. Rooms rates are reasonable, and many feature kitchenettes, plus you can book theme park tickets right on site. So yeah, it’s a good one.

Talk about location! Holiday Inn Burbank Media Center is about a 15-minute drive from the park, but it’s location in squeaky-clean downtown Burbank is within walking distance of numerous restaurants your kids will love, including Shake Shack, Cookie Dough Dreams, and Fosters Freeze (think old-fashioned soft serve ice cream heaven!). Suites include separate living areas, sleeper sofas, and kitchenettes.
Coast Anabelle
Located in the heart of Burbank, Coast Anabelle wears its centralized location proudly. Not only can you book tours to all the nearby studios (including Universal Studios, Warner Bros., and Disney) right at the front desk, but there’s a lot to do nearby including movies at AMC Burbank 16 and tons of local shops and eateries. Book a studio suite and in addition to one king bed, you’ll also get a queen sleeper sofa, plus a full-size refrigerator, stove top, and microwave oven.
