This part of the journey is from Kashi towards Pakistan southwest bound. Lots of snow peaked mountains and lakes. Very scenic. An unexplored part of China mostly as it is nearly to Tajikistan and Pakistan rather than major cities in China.

The vista is from Kashi (Kashgar) in Xinjiang Province to about 2 hours away from the border town of Pakistan. We were traveling on a day excursion and all we saw were countless snow peaked mountain tops and lakes. Very stark and raw and isolated from the rest of humanity. Excellent photo opportunities!

I think the best sights are those that appeared right in front of your vision when least expected. As is the case here on the day excursion from Kashgar (Kashi to the Chinese).

Mountains after mountains with snow peaks and lakes under the #blue sky!

Yes, this is a rarity in Asia. Most places are crowded with civilization but this rare window into the heart of China is what takes breath away, not the pollution in the cities!

This is the vista stretching from Kashi in western China to about 2 hours from Pakistan border. We drove for a day to simply enjoy the freedom from crowd and noises in this most populated country in the world! Who could have known there are still plenty of open spaces and fresh air here?
