The Redwoods team is wonderful- great communication before our trip re: recommended route, key things to remember, thorough list of what is/is not provided at the cabin. Just outside our cabin door were several hikes through beautiful scenery - roaring streams, trees and wildflowers, boulders covered in moss, views of surrounding mountains. Wawona was a great place to stay for easy access to Yosemite Valley. The Redwoods friendly and knowledgeable maintenance team responded to a noisy dripping shower head in our master bedroom on a Saturday, replacing the "vintage" shower head after tracking down tools that would fit the old unit. They brought over mouse traps and set them, making sure we knew what to do if they actually caught the little guy. The cabin had plenty of space for our family of 5 adults to enjoy hanging out together, sharing meals, building a giant puzzle, just talking and relaxing together - plus room for some alone time. We really enjoyed our time at the Redwoods in Simmons Den.

Relaxing Weekend

We had a very relaxing weekend celebrating my husband's birthday with our kids & my in-laws. The cabin was clean & cozy. The kitchen was well stocked for the cooking we did. We were right across the street for the office and within walking distance from the store. It was nice to spend the days exploring Yosemite & returning to the cabin to stay the night. We have no complaints & would stay in the same cabin again!

Cobwebs on lights over the stove and in the corners of living room. Toilet bowls were filthy. Lamp did not work. Was burned badly getting a sheet pan out of drawer beneath oven. No insulation apparently. Mattresses were terrible. One guest slept on the sofa all week and the other slept on the top bunk instead of with his wife. The service was good,but I will not recommend the Simmons Den. Or maybe the cleaning service should be fired.

Camping cabin vibes

This is a great cabin just inside the South Gate of Yosemite. It was a good base for activities. Still 45 min drive to the valley. They had a well stocked kitchen. Good basecamp for activities.

Great first time trip to Yosemite.

We only stayed for two nights. Didn’t enjoyed much time at the cabin. Wish we have had more time to barbecue, light up the fire place, cocktails, etc.

The cabin needs updating. Needs new mattresses - needs a deep cleaning - needs some kind of supplies for guests. Pretty much bare. Great location.

Yosemite Trip

These properties are in a great location. Inside Yosemite park, close to Mariposa Grove and the Sugar Pine Railroad. Redwood Property #70 is rundown and dirty. Stained carpet, bathrooms that desperately need updated, kitchen lacking basic cooking supplies (only one skillet, no aluminum foil or plastic wrap, no paper towels, coffee maker has no heating element to keep coffee warm after brewing, etc). Very disappointed in this vrbo rental.

great cabin in the woods

great location, inside the park, 55 minutes from the valley. very convenient. although the cabin furniture and fixtures are a bit old, they are comfortable and in good condition and we had a great time. internet works very well. nice deck!

Fantastic weekend in Yosemite

I brought my parents to Yosemite for the weekend, and we had a wonderful time. The cabin was very cozy and the perfect place to come back to after a long day. I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful stay in Yosemite

We had a great visit in Yosemite. We were there for a 60 degree sunny day, and some snow so utilized not only the sunny deck but also the fireplace! Really charming cabin and for our extended family perfectly.

Beyond our highest expectations.

It's obvious that this cabin is loved and well maintained by the owners. We stayed for three nights with our two adult children. Everyone had plenty of space and we cooked most of our meals at the cabin. The location is perfect; staying within Yosemite is the best way to enjoy the park. Highly recommended! We would stay there again.

Interesting peak to American holiday home

We visited Redwood / Simmons Den cottage in June 2017 and stayed for three days. This house is nice, though different to Scandinavian holiday homes. The price and the quality level didn't meet up our expectations. There was no AC which made our nights struggling since the temperature was around 90-110F during the day. The interior design is from the 70's, but the kitchen is updated to today's standards. There was not enough flatware and glasses for 5 persons, so prepare to do the dishes after each meal. The area is quite dreary and the houses are honestly crappy if you compare to Northern European quality. The cottages don't include any yards to play or to sunbathe, but in this house the terrace is very nice. The reception is very friendly and helpful. There is nice sightseeing in Wawona itself too, e.g. the river, the waterfall and beautiful Victorian hotel Big Tree lodge where you can use the pool ($5) and join their dinner/BBQ. The best thing is that you are closer to the Valley in the morning, so can avoid the worst traffic in peak seasons. Overall, after our first shock we really enjoyed the Redwoods, our cottage and Yosemite. This place was definitely one of the most memorable stays during our two weeks roadtrip in California. Warm thank you!

Perfect last-minute getaway in Yosemite

We planned a last-minute trip to Yosemite and this was a great pet-friendly place to stay for our family. While we normally spend more time on the north side of the park, in the winter we gravitate towards Badger Pass. Unfortunately, the weather was mostly rain during our stay, but the cozy cabin was fine for keeping us entertained. The staff was easy to work with and the reservation process was smooth. The place is a little dated, but we didn't care since it met all our needs. I especially enjoyed the unlimited firewood supply. Highly recommend this for a small family!
