The receptionists were friendly and polite. We were able to drop our bag off prior to checking in which was great and they even put the bag in our room ready for us. We were also offered to leave it at check out which was nice. The room was newly refurbished with plenty of space and 2 chairs to sit on so we didn’t have to lounge on the bed which we appreciated. Breakfast was busy but there was plenty of cold buffet choices along with an order taken for hot food and all staff were pleasant. We would definitely stay again.

The room is clean but the standout is the staff - they are lovely. They leave a little parcel outside your door if you do not request room service which is a really nice hands off approach. In larger establishments you just don't get anything replenished if you don't take the room service. Location is unreal - would definitely come back if we are back in York!

The car park was a secure gated area for hotel patrons only which I found to be a massive plus for York. As car parks in York, in my opinion, all seem to be hidden away and often some distance away from most of the accommodations as well as being quite expensive for overnight stays. The receptionists were cheerful, friendly and helpful, which after a two and a half hour drive was a very welcome sight. Our room, although not huge, was comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. The breakfast staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. Our breakfast at the hotel was more than enough to see us through until lunch, and then we felt we only needed a light one. There is a buffet table with cereals, jams,fruit and bread/toast. The cooked breakfast was made to order with plenty of options. Overall we had great stay and cannot recommend the Minster Hotel highly enough. Phil &Ginny Nov. 7-10th

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely - our only real criticism is that the hotel was swelteringly warm all the time even with the window as wide open as we could make it and that made sleeping a little difficult.

The staff are wonderful and very attentive, Made sure I had lactose free milk once they knew. The hotel is always very clean, the food lovely and fresh made, we've stayed before and we'll stay again. Highly recommend.

Great stay at the minster hotel! Fab having parking on site - just be aware if your car is particularly large. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Would deffo recommend and come back

Parking was easy but should be made clear on the hotels.com sote that it isan additional cost when not booking direct though the hotel. Documents given to customers state parking is free but had been charged 10gbp per day at check-in as not a direct booking with the hotel. Room showed significant signs of wear with plaster missing on walls. Signs of leaks from the roof. Poor decorating. Bathroom had a failed extractor fan and missing trv contol on the towel rail which meant the bathroom was hot and humid.
