The room was great, except, one preposterous thing: there was only a single usable electrical outlet in the room (aside from the shavers-only plug in the bath), and it was at the desk, all the way across the room from the bed. In had to ask for an extension cord just to plug in a necessary medical device.

Nice big room and large bathroom. Decorated and fitted out nicely, although a little tired in some areas. Lovely clean, comfy beds and lots of hot water for a shower. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Excellent breakfast and a great location. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely book again.

Clean hotel with good location near to central York. Staff overall friendly and helpful. Bedroom ok but bathroom very tired looking. Fan in bathroom is very noisy and comes on with the light but doesnt turn off for a long time. Found hack that by removing room card it switched everything off. Was quickest way to knock off the noise. Breakfast was ok but could have been warmer and a few more options on the continental would have been nice. Would gladly pay a bit more for this. Parking is onsite but due to river flooding had to move to a mutli storey 5 min walk away. Overall a great central location if visiting York.

Second visit to the Queens. The hotel is well placed for central York, with a plethora of pubs and eateries around. The room was cosy, overlooking the river, at an extra cost, which was great really. The usual coffee granule packs (Nescafe) teas (Yorkshire, if course) and a couple of biscuits were on offer in the room. Everything you need for a short break including towels, shampoo, and hairdryer all as standard. The hotel room looked tired though, the room was ok but needed sprucing up, the bed was showing its age, creaking whenever we turned! Breakfast was extra but a really great deal and something I'd highly recommend. Fresh coffee, cereals, continental and English all available through self service. Booking is essential as it always seemed a busy place in a morning. Parking is extra, and needs to be booked, currently £19 a night, which is inline with York prices, though if you arrive by train, it's only a 15 minute walk. Every member of staff was very welcoming, said hello and couldn't be more helpful. All in all, another great visit, lovely staff and a friendly hotel which just needs a bit of love and updating in the bedroom.

Great location for train station and all of town. Very quiet, spacious room. Breakfast buffet rather than cooked to order, but they would do individual egg order. I'd definitely stay again, and worth upgrade to river view.

Apartment block securely locked and car park also secured by locked gate. Small apartment with corner kitchen ideal for a city break. All thoroughly clean with all you would require in a kitchen.

Great Hotel in York

Nice hotel that is near to both the railway station and the old city and really near to the river, which made it a pleasure walk within our stay.

In April I booked two rooms for one night. When I arrived in September one room is on the second floor while the second room is on the third floor. Having booked two rooms at the same time with the same credit card under the same last name for the same day one would expect to ideally have ajoining rooms. Falling that then side by side or maybe across the hall. At the very least on the same floor. In this case it was me and my brother and our wives. I would have been really upset if I had arrived with my teenage son and daughter. My daughter and wife would be expected to stay on one floor while my son and I on another floor many rooms away. I am not a satisfied customer.
