The location is very convenient and nice, clean. Only stairs to climb. But this stay was different as there seem to be long term stayers, with many plastic bags with personal items by the empty lockers, no keys to many open lockers, another large plastic bag at the kitchen blocking the already small kitchnette area in the back with label from "Lumi"? note not disturb. The environment seemed much less welcoming for guests then other stays before, with loud talk and loud walking around late at night and one or 2 long term stayers making it more like their home and not always good with guests.

Best hostel/capsule of all 6 I've stayed.

Cleanest of total 6 hostel/capsules I've stayed. The property is well maintained. Nothing falling apart or looks dirty. Large sitting lounge can sit 8-10 people comfortably. Most of my 13 nites stay I see only mostly 2-4 people in there. Sometimes there is a larger group. Large CLEAN & COMFORTABLE sitting lounge, not a large cafeteria w/just tables/chairs, promotes interaction amongst people. That is what happened there. The street is a high-end(ish) Rodeo Drive -lite like street. VERY NICE w/cafes, pastry shops, Japanese & western style restaurants, bars, grocery stores, high end jewlers, fashion boutiques, fine wine shops, etc. everything you need, even Brooks Brothers mens clothing store. Few blocks to convenient stores, Don Quixote mega store, largest Chinatown in Japan & the metro. It's surrounded by residential neighborhoods. Yokohama itself is more quiet and fewer tourists. The Japanese people in Yokohama are more progressive and less "stiff" than typical of Osaka/Kyoto/Tokyo due to it's 1859 opening of Yokohama as a trading port in Japan. The western influence can be seen in it's people and architechure. I'm not referring to modern city office buildings. It's the neighborhood smaller buildings. I see more PDA amongst even older Japanese couples! Their fashion sense are NOT confirming to the rest of the population. They exercise their individule flairs. It's very refreshing. I also saw lots of babies and dogs. They love their dogs here.

I've stayed at 6 or 7 hostels between last year and this year. By far this Motomachi Yokohama Hostel is the cleanest. Facility is very new. Nothing is worn out or not repaired. The location is also amazing. It's on a high end shopping street with boutique fashion, jewery, pastery, grocery shops. Prices are not excessive. Yes, higher than Osaka but in returni get back higher level of comfort and convenience.

Hostel is more of a capsule hotel.

It was terrible for a youth hostel, because there was little space for your luggage, so if you have a thief for a neighbor, your stuff is unsecured. The staff is sleep most of the time, even in the morning. The AI check-in process is terrible because it barely recognize certain face profiles and it shows that staff is to lazy to welcome guest.

もうちょいスタッフは、働いた方がいいぞ。

１００円レンタルのタオルは、１５時にチェックインした時点で在庫１。少なすぎ。 １００円で借りたタオルにシミがあった。 アメニティ購入の指示が不備だらけ。 封筒にお釣りなくお金を入れてポストに、と書かれていたが、そもそも封筒がない。メモ用紙も紙も見当たらなかったので直接、お金をポストに入れた。支払いの証拠を残すため、動画をわざわざ撮った。洗面台横の掃除用具入れは、開けっぱしで汚い。トイレの除菌スプレーは、ポンプが折れてて使えない。カプセル系ホテルに何度か泊まったが、シーツ類を自主回収は、初。それでも星２なのは、イベント会場から激近で助かったから。

立地は最高です♪ 階段で上り下りするのは、疲れますが、寝るだけの人にとっては、安くてアクセスの良さを考えるといいですね。 基本、スタッフがいないのは、心配しましたが、何事もありませんでした。 チェックアウトのルール（シーツなどどうするのかなど）が明示されていないのには悩みました。

他の宿泊客が夜中に数人で話していたが声の配慮もなく眠れなかった。瓶のふたが開かないからと休んでいるときにカーテン前で呼んできたり、覗き込んできたりしてきた。その際はスタッフもいなかったのでトラブルになった際の対応はどうなのか気になった。

初めてカプセルホテルを利用しました。 リビングには冷蔵庫やサーバー、レンジなど設備が整っていたしシャワーにはボディソープ、シャンプー、リンスもありドライヤーもありました。 布団も清潔でしたし鍵付きのロッカー設置あり 雰囲気もよく私は居心地がよかったです
