Very nice hotel with large rooms and great bathrooms. I sure was a walk in with a rain shower head and also included a large tub that had a radiator to keep the towels warm. A very nice luxury after a long day. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated for the Christmas season. People are friendly and spoke excellent English. I would recommend this to my colleagues who will be soon traveling to the same area for work.

Great hotel

Our 3rd stay at this hotel, spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. Rooms are very large & bathrooms lovely. We did find the restaurant & bar prices quite expensive this time but the food was very nice. Will definitely stay again.

Very nice hotel

We stayed at this Hotel and I just want to say that the staff is really nice, they answered all my e-mails with very good instructions to from how to get there to where to take trains in Amsterdam. By mistake in a previous review, I said that they did not answer the e-mails, that was my mistake. I got all the help I needed from them

This is a very nice hotel, but I stayed in he suit and the a/c was terrible, it is only for the living room and never reached the bedrooms. The hotel staff are very, very nice and I wrote to them before arriving and they answered my e-mails in no time with all the information required I will stay there again with no problem

Highly recommended

This was everything you would expect of a 4 star hotel: clean, comfortable and well-run. The room was huge and the toiletries were generous in quantity and high quality. It was an easy walk into town and about 1/2 hour from Assen circuit.Very good indeed.

Unexpected poor service from Van Der Valk

A long wait to check in. One person working whilst 3 chatted behind the counter. Arrived late in the evening so wanted room service. No menu in the room. Went back to reception, no room service menu, sent me to the bar, no room service menu....just as I was about to give up one of the waiters said I could choose anything from the lunch menu and he could bring that to my room. This was the type of service I have come to expect from Van Der Valk hotels. Not the dismissive uninterested service I received from reception.
