My trip was canceled as I stood on the porch trying to get in the front door.I made my VRBO reservation six or seven months ago for my daughter's wedding in Michigan and my final payment was made just a few days before the check-in date. As the trip approached, I sent several emails to the host, just touching base on some details, but did not get any response.I continued to get emails from VRBO and Evolve, all the way up to the day of arrival, with check-in information and details. We drove from South Carolina and showed up in the late afternoon. After several tries to enter the code to open the front door, I noticed that there were car keys on the table just inside the door and shoes and clothes were scattered inside. My wife walked around to the back and there was a dog in the walk-out basement. There was definitely someone living there! Then I noticed "Your trip had been canceled" at the top of my reservation screen and I received a cancelation email at the same time. Besides apologies from customer support, we were left to figure out our lodging problem ourselves.
