A nice hotel with awesome friendly staff. A weekend visit means you're in a noise free part of the city with not far to walk to the main CBD. The premier studio room contained a very comfy bed, a seating area to read or watch tv without laying on your bed, a small kitchen, and a spacious bathroom with an excellent shower. All in all.... a good visit to a hotel that's become our preferred option when visiting the city. Oh....... and an excellent Argentinian bakery nearby for morning and afternoon treats.

A great stay in Wellington. The room was very comfortable and had everything you need. The staff were helpful and attentive. It's close to parliament and a short walk to some pubs and restaurants, or the harbour.

A very comfortable hotel. Spacious room with a kitchenette. Good breakfast and location. Only concerning issue was the Wi-Fi which was hit and miss - frustrating as I needed to work.

The staff were attentive and professional, from the duty management to the service staff. Room was quiet and clean. The hotel is well situated on the Terrace, making for an easy walk to shops and restaurants on Lambton Quay. The room rate was competitive with other hotels in Wellington which aren’t as good in my opinion.

The Bolten is in a fabulous location however it is so dated inside it feels grose. Old Stained carpets and sofas. Kitchenette had 3 single tea spoons in the family suite. Fridge cabinet door brackets were broken, towel hook on back of bathroom falling off. Netflix not working in master bedroom or lounge and tv working in kids room however remote became unresponsive. The arms on the sofas and chairs felt sticky and grose. Master bedroom was missing a robe. We moved a single sofa chair to face the TV and there was food under it. The kitchen tap was so stiff it almost didnt work at all. Had to keep adjusting the shower temperature all the time as it kept changing and going from luke warm to super hot so kids needed help. We stayed somewhere else for our wellington trip however wanted to stay a extra night and there was nothing available for where we were. We rung the bolten willing to pay 1k for the top suite which they declined which is fine so we took the family suite. Would love to have known the state of the top suite as I would have been gutted to part with bigger money for the same feel. Our kids did enjoy the pool and the beds were great and clean it was just the suite itself. It didnt have a above and beyond feel when it came to the staff either. We dealt with all our own luggage and got the trolley ourselves and transported it. They said they would ring when the suite was ready but they did not. We could have been good customer's however I dont feel we will return.

Helpful staff, comfortable room

A nice stay here in this hotel centrally located in the financial district. Our room was comfortable with a decently sized bathroom. Staff were friendly and very eager to please, making for an overall very pleasant two-night stay.
