Overall the house was nice. There were a few cleanliness issues, like what appeared to be dried fruit mix dumped in the cutlery drawer and left there. The basic amenities like soap and detergent were not readily available, was enough for one wash. The hair dryer was missing and the host didn’t offer to provide a replacement or even apologize for the inconvenience really, was just told if I couldn’t find it one of the last guest must have taken it. Seems like the property isn’t inspected thoroughly between guests. The grounds behind the property are quiet but the property does sit a few feet from a busy road. So if car noise is an issue for you while trying to sleep, may want to think about that. There were also some amenities listed that were not available. I believe it stated things like beach towels in the listing but when I asked I was told there were none. Would have been nice if the host provided suggestions on where to get/rent towels and beach chairs etc. compared to other rentals we’ve stayed in, this was one of the least willing to provide suggestions or appear genuinely concerned how our stay was going. The property is nice and it was nice to see that a lot of the original charm was left in place. The location, although not walkable to anything, was easily accessible (via car) to travel around the island. We flew in and ended up renting a car. Ubering proved to be not so easy and costly. Was much easier having the freedom of your own vehicle to get around.

Good eclectic mix of historical construction next to virtually new construction. A wonderful outdoor shower and a farmer’s field out back. House is by a 45MPH country road, which we already knew (my family owns a house about a mile or two away and we pass by this property almost every day we are on-island). A classic Marthas Vineyard summer home.

AMAZING PLACE

What a beautiful home. And, if my son's research is correct, a very historic location. The house was spotless when we arrived and contained everything you would need for a week. The beds were quite comfortable and the scenery was beautiful. We had a few questions that were quickly answered by our hosts. Would most certainly rent again. Thank you!!

Model A Hub

A small group of our Model A club toured MV and this was a very nice, quaint cottage for us to stay. It is conveniently located in the center of the island to start our daily tours and had all the amenities we needed. Our cars were the talk of the island!

Cute Farmhouse

The house was great. It is in a good location if you have a car to get around the island. The only negatives would be the lack of outdoor space and the access to the bike trail. Although the property is next to the bike trail, it is not close or easy to get to.

Great authentic farmhouse experience

Our family had a wonderful weeklong stay here. The property is an old farmhouse with plenty of character. Our kid enjoyed the vintage toys and games. The kitchen has a mix of newer appliances and some that date back a ways; same with dishes and pans. The house was extremely clean and the king size beds were very comfortable. The main floor has central air and the upstairs bedrooms have window AC units. Getting to the bike path requires a short walk along the busy Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, and then you can ride around the state forest or into Edgartown. You’ll need a car to get to the beaches, or else take the public bus. Oh and the outdoor shower was a real treat. We were very happy with our stay and hope to stay here again on our next visit to the Vineyard!
