The hotel was great, location and everything about it was fantastic. The rooms were large and stylish with an old charm, with high ceilings and very well appointed decor. The beds (two twins connected to each other) had problem though, the side that my wife slept on was worn out completely and she fell into the mattress. She didn't say anything to me until I lied down on her side and realized myself how bad it was compared to mine. But by then it was the last night and we just told the hotel about it the next day on our way out. Not sure if they are going to do something about it or not. Other than a bad mattress (which is really the main part of a hotel room, yes?) the experience with the hotel was great and breakfast was fantastic too.

A decent property but not a five star. Very convenient area. However, the details in the amenities such as the towels and the sheets were quite poor and disappointing. These may seem like small details but they make a big difference.

Overall an exceptionally great experience. Not sure what “VIP Access” amenities are, but the breakfasts were outstanding and the 40Euro credit welcome (applied to our wonderful dinner at the 1870 Restaurant). The only very minor issue we had was the master lighting switch in the room, which was on a timer - so we kept having to press it again to keep the lights on. Also next time we would ask for a room with a view - my point being we would without doubt return to this hotel!
