We enjoyed our time at the Hideaway Beach house! This was our first time staying on the treasure coast, so we weren’t sure what to expect as far as location. The house itself is in a great area for outdoor enthusiasts, sitting in between Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge and Sebastian Inlet State Park, there were plenty of quiet places to explore and wildlife to see! The lagoon directly across the road has a small beach access to launch a kayak or board, and we saw manatees, dolphins, and river otters right there in the cove. It is across A1A, so there is a decent amount of traffic that goes by….sometimes you had to hustle across with the kayak! The kayaks provided were ok - they are both tandem kayaks and are heavy! The Atlantic side beach was very private. Most of the time the closest people were 1/4 mile away, which was great for privacy! We had some bad luck with seaweed deposits while we were there, but you can’t control the weather or the tides! The house itself was nice. There are a few things that could use some updating (shower heads and faucets in the master bathroom for example), and we did wish there was either some additional entertainment like a pool table or arcades of some sort for those indoor rainy days, but the views were perfect from the crows nest and made up for it! We even got to see the Artemis II launch from the top of the house, which was pretty awesome! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the great communication from the host!!
