This is a wonderful place, and Sienna is an excellent host. The house is well laid out, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is fully equipped–the best I’ve ever seen in a rental– everything from a cocktail shaker to a spring-form pan.Outdoors, the place is almost a desert arboretum. Sienna has landscaped it beautifully with a large variety of desert flora and fruit trees, and there are many outdoor “rooms” to enjoy. Our grandchildren loved playing in the pool during the day, and in the evening we sat around the fire. There is excellent star gazing right on the property. It’s an easy drive to Joshua Tree National Park, where we hiked and went star gazing in the middle of the night. It’s an incredible landscape, and if you haven’t seen it, we highly recommend it. There is a good supermarket in town, and the town of Joshua Tree has fun places to explore–we recommend Sky High Pie for pizza and the coffee shop next door. Lots of places to poke around in. If you like books, don’t miss Raven’s Book Shoppe in Twentynine Palms. We hope to be back next year.
