Everyone was very nice and accommodating. Pulled chairs, blankets when they noticed I was chilled, special mocktails, etc. The only think I would have loved to have in our room is a mirror in the bathroom, more hooks, and a movable chair. Other than that I felt very comfortable.

Ocean front, very relaxing, no TV, just WiFi. Beautiful beach and hotel grounds. On site restaurant has variety of food choices, affordable and great staff. Pool is vey large and perfect temperature. I’m interested in a quiet, relaxing place to stay, not all inclusive, which I love.

The hotel was right on the ocean. Rooms were fantastic and pool was huge and just a beautiful area. We came at the end of the tropical storm so lots of rain one night and the hotel lost power for a few hours during the day. We just hung out in the pool all day and kept cool. My only warning is that the road you takeoff off of the highway to get to the hotel is very rough. If you have a low profile vehicle you just have to drive slow and careful. It was worth the rough ride once we got there. The restaurant on site is also excellent. We ate all of our meals there.

The staff at the restaurant were very nice, helpful and friendly. Beautiful hotel by the beach. Rooms are nice and clean. The front desk clerk rude and unfriendly. The cat had a better personality than her. Rigel is her name! She needs to be retrained. Liked Gabriel and Vilma by the restaurant/bar.

I don't think I've ever left a bad review for anything before but I think there are some things that people should be warned about. First, the good: the location is beautiful and the restaurant was excellent. An argument could be made that that's enough to warrant a stay here. Next, the OK: the state of our room was pretty shabby. The loveseat was broken, a toilet was consistently running, the refrigerator and kitchenware was kind of gross. The roofs are literally just palm leaves so you can hear everything happening around you - I could clearly hear a couple's argument in the casita next door and their phone's alarm going off repeated the next morning. We aren't too picky so we would have been happy to look past all of this. However.... There were some truly bad things about this stay: First, the door to our casita (#32) didn't lock. Or rather, the lock engaged but didn't stay engaged when you tried to open it. I don't know if this is the case for all the doors or just ours. As a result, some drunk people broke into our casita at night while we were in bed thinking it was there's. It could have been much worse that confused drunk people breaking in. And second, the pool was dirty/cloudy. I hoped it was just from sandy people coming in from the beach. But the kids spent hours in the our pool both days of our stay and all 3 kids in our group came away with horrible ear infections. Our daughter is three days into antibiotics and no improvement yet. Same with the others.

Beautiful place, just in need of a couple tweaks

Overall, this is a great resort in an amazing location. There are however, some things that made it a 4 star stay rather than 5. First, they put us directly next to the kitchen and loud restaurant music, despite their low occupancy and they refused to move us until the following day. As a result, my baby had trouble sleeping, and thus so did I. Second, the swimming pool is beautiful and large; but the surface is so rough that it will cut up your feet if you're not careful. My kids swam with water shoes to avoid cuts. Third, the restaurant is over priced and service is mediocre. The servers stand around instead of proactively picking up all the leftover beer bottles and towels surrounding the pool. Finally, I found it off-putting that the resort charges extra for their beach chairs and umbrellas. That's typically included with the cost of a hotel. We ended up buying a surf lesson from a shop down the beach that was less expensive and included chairs & umbrellas all day. On a more positive note, the location cannot be beat. I love that it's a smaller property instead of a giant hotel. The grounds are beautiful. Gabriel was the most helpful and friendly employee- gave us a lot of great recommendations. We would return again.

Solid value, incredible location

Nice hotel with a great pool and hot tubs right on the beach. Cerritos is pretty small and spread out so being right in the action is what you want. Relaxing, good food and drinks.
