Twin Peaks Lakeside Inn

Assistant very helpful, and accommodating, exchanged an upstairs unit for a downstairs one on our request without hesitation. Very nice unit to stay in, everything we needed for cooking a basic evening meal , shower good with plenty of pressure and heat.

Disappointing Stay – Great Location, but That’s About It The motel has a great location — it’s close to the town centre and just a short walk to the lake, which was the main reason we chose it. I booked the cheapest room available, so maybe the more expensive rooms are better — I honestly hope so. Unfortunately, our room was not clean. There was dust everywhere, like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in quite some time. The bed was extremely uncomfortable — felt like the cheapest option possible. Honestly, a camping air bed in the bush would’ve been a better sleep. Another issue was the smell. There’s a bar or restaurant attached to the motel, and the smell of cooking oil constantly drifted into our room. It was unpleasant enough that we had to keep the windows shut the whole time. Only positive was that check-in was quick and easy. But overall, I wouldn’t stay here again unless some serious upgrades are made.

Close to lakefront, but unit in corner beside restaurant/bar. Carpark was tight beside wall of restaurant, stairway, and area of empty beer kegs and service vehicles had to park behind our vehicle. Overall unit was clean but mat by doorway perishing so black powder spread around unit floor. Shower wall by base rotten and breaking away, shower mixer on wall needs securing as spins round. Had to wash dishes in bathroom basin.

I had to come to Taupo gir a familt funeral and needed to stsy over for 1 night. Twin Peaks provided evetything i required , room was spotlessly clean and comfortable , lovely staff in reception
