Sv. Petar is a place named after the church of St. Peter the apostle (Crkva Sv. Petra apostola) from the 18th century. Sv. Petar (called Krmčina until 1994) has been known since the 16th century when the first inhabitants and houses were recorded, as well as the estates of the Civarelli family from Zadar. The wider area is rich in archaeological, cultural and historic monuments dating from the prehistoric time to the modern times. In the centre of the settlement the remains of the medieval husbandry buildings can be seen, which belonged to Rogovo abbey. In the prehistoric period, the greater area of the present Sv. Petar was temporarily or permanently inhabited as the people used glades, caves and foot of Tustica hill such as the cave Buta, at the foot of Tustica, and two citadels from the Iron Age – Pećinska gomila and Vukašinov krug. This was the route of the ancient Trayan's aqueduct “Biba – Jader”, still preserving some of its remains The closest beach, a restaurant and a grocery store are only 100 meters away. The old town of Zadar is only 20 minutes away by car. On a walk through the narrow streets of the old town you will find the Roman Forum, churches from the Roman and Middle Ages as well as a few restaurants. The national parks Krka, Paklenica and Kornati are all within 60 km and make this accommodation an ideal base for exploring the Northern Dalmatia region.
