Gulf of America

Daughter wanted to see the Gulf and we did some other road tripping and sight-seeing. This was a great place to stop thru for us on the teens spring break. We found a air boat tour an hour west in Texas among the other beach and nature areas to explore. Some minor issues with the rental, but the management was receptive to our messages.

Family vacation…

We had family come south from Missouri to meet family from Florida for a long weekend. It was overall a wonderful trip. The house is located on a very quiet kid friendly beach. It was a great house and we enjoyed most everything about it. The spiral staircase to the third floor was both unique it also a challenge keeping the toddlers off it. 😉 we would stay there again.

Nice and secluded!

The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved the room upstairs. We loved the area and how secluded it is. If you love to watch the ocean without a crowd around you this is the house for you! Our only complaint was the refrigerator and oven had not been cleaned but probably just an oversight. The towels were damp in the cabinet but they were all clean. No biggie!

Weekend Getaway

Our stay here was great. Location and the property were perfect. Communication was also a big plus. After I inquired about crabbing, the owners invested in a boiling pot that we were able to use. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Beautiful relaxing beach house.

Beautiful home, very nice beach views from 90% of house. Had all appliances and toiletries, wash and kitchen necessities. Loved lounging on the porch and hearing the waves. Wish we could have stayed I get and plan to come back annually or twice a year to your home. Bring some mosquito spray in case, like all beach places in Texas and LA. Closest hospital is a ways away and unfortunately we found that out when we needed it. But the Medical Center of Southeast Texas was a great facility for cardiac problems!

Quiet beach vacation

We had an amazing time at this beach house! Just a short walk to the secluded beach. The house was perfect for a relaxing stay. We really liked the full wrap around porch with some great sunsets. We had everything we needed for a great stay!

View was great, home clean & smelled good. My sister & her daughter wanted to know the name of the plug-ins used,they smelled really good. Rain came mid-week but we were there to visit, relax, watch the waves, hunt for shells which we found allot, which are different from the ones at Crystal Beach. We usually go to Crystal Beach, Galveston x2 yr. but decided to go to Little Florida,Holly Beach, La. My sister, 81yrs old, found a huge shell, bigger than her hand! (No fish story) we all have hardships, but there's something about watching the mighty yet calming waves to cleanse your heart & mind to remind you just how strong yet loving our Lord Jesus is. Thank you Saratoga for allowing us to relax in your beach home.

Review

We really enjoyed the house and it’s a great location. The AC worked wonderfully. Thank you for allowing us to check in early. There are a few minor issues. The ceiling fan/light remotes don’t work consistently and probably need new batteries. We saw several dead tree roaches in the house during check in. The refrigerator was dirty upon check in. Other than that we enjoyed it! Thank you

There was good and bad. The beach house is really decorated nicely. It does accommodate 10 but you are charged for over 6 people. It has the essential items needed….but no dishwashing detergent for items that can’t go in the dishwasher, no trash bags, very little paper towels. So pack covering all needs. No supermarket close by just little service station quick stops. The temp outside was in the 90s and the house was 82 when we arrived. By the time we went to bed it was 80 and then 75 when we woke the back to 80 quickly. The host sent a service man out twice but problem not resolved. The ceiling fan in the living room does not work and only 1 of the ceiling lights come on in the living room. Also the vent over the stove does not work and there is no dining room table. The rules asked not to eat on the furniture so we sat on the floor most of the time while eating, the island is beautiful but not large enough for 9. The house was clean, we had plenty of towels and a washer & dryer. As I said the host were very nice. They also refunded us for 1 night stay due to the uncomfortable temperature in the beach house. It’s on a dead end road and is right across from the beach. The views are amazing! The beach was a blast!

Beach Paradise

Our group had a Fantastic time. Beach area provided us all with everything we expected. Amazing view and the sound of waves crashing on the beach was paradise. Cabin was clean, modern and host were excellent. No complaints. Will definitely be back and recommend.

Wonderful secluded beach home

We absolutely loved our time at this beach house. It is right on the beach and on a dead end road. We hardly saw any other people the whole time we stayed. We saw lots of wildlife and really enjoyed finding all the crabs in their shells on the rocks at low tide. We also drove to the Cameron ferry crossing and saw lots of dolphins there one evening. We did see dolphins in the ocean right in front of the house one morning too. The house has lovely beach decor. The kids loved staying up the lighthouse stairs! And the 2 bedrooms downstairs were comfortable and had plenty of room. The views from the decks were beautiful too. Nice relaxing place to get away from it all!

Not ready for our stay

Lights and fans that didn’t work. And unclean house. When I contacted owner was just told they were small problems and I should enjoy my stay. No offers to come fix it or refund cleaning fee. Also the air was leaking water into the house. I had to put a bowl there with towels around it.

Property was very peaceful and relaxing. Neighborhood was very nice and people were friendly. The beach view was awesome. The beach itself needed some attention. There was a bit of trash scattered. Overall my family was very satisfied.

Nice little git away

I loved that it was so secluded and we loved being on the beach everyday and being able to enjoy because we where the only ones on our side!!! The house was clean and had everything we needed.
