Perfect getaway!

The peace and quiet was just what we were looking for. The amazing panoramic views added to the perfect stay! Being welcomed by the two friendly barn cats was a real treat.

Gorgeous country retreat - relaxing and refreshing

The studio was the perfect size for 2, and was located on a beautiful, serene property. We enjoyed the quiet and views of the stars while also being close to nearby favorite activities and things to do in the Charlottesville surrounding areas. The pool was a highlight & it was fun to walk the trails on the property as well.

This property was absolutely stunning! such a great little getaway for my husband and I's 10th wedding anniversary. The little carriage house was adorable and comfortable/clean. We loved the farm itself and the little town was so cute! would definitely come back again.

A great cottage for a couple near Shenandoah!

My husband and I took a short trip to Shenandoah National Park for the first time, and the Carriage House Studio was more than what we expected. It was clean and cozy. Alton made sure we were comfortable without being intrusive which we greatly appreciated. We will book the cottage when we come visit the area, again.

Beautiful place!

We got there with no problem and the whole property presents beautifully. Especially being fall with the leaves turning. But, it truly would be a beautiful place at any time of year. Everything you could need is there for you. The host was extremely responsive and pleasant. It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you can be in town in minutes, and in Charlottesville in just a few more. Great location. Would definitely recommend this property.

Spectacular views

I could not possibly have enjoyed my stay anymore! The views were beautiful and the hiking paths were astounding. My stay was during the time when the leaves were changing and falling. It was truly unbelievably beautiful! I visited the winery called Revelation in the Hebron Valley. The sunset was beautiful and the wine was delicious. The Blue Ridge Mountains were gorgeous and I also visited the Shanandoah river. I just couldn't get enough of the area and I can't wait to come back! Well done Alton!

Relaxing and peaceful

An absolutely lovely place overlooking the Blue Ridge mountains. Quiet and well maintained. Comfortable bed. Property has 2 VERY friendly farm cats, so be aware if you are allergic. We love cats and wete happy to have their company, missing our own while away. Property uses well water which has a high iron odor, safe to drink and bathe in. Beautiful star-filled skies at night and close by to Shenandoah National Park. Farmer's Market on Saturday was also delightful. Overall an excellent experience. We will definitely return!

Relaxing privacy with beautiful views

Amazing!

So happy I found this little gem on VRBO. Alton was very nice and accommodating and we really enjoyed the property. Stunning views on our walks at sunset, and spent the day by the pool. Sat on the back deck and watched the storms roll over the mountains too. Carriage house had everything we needed, simply couldn’t have asked for a better weekend! Thank you!

Winter's last breath.

The Cottage house was a lovely place. However, with wind chills in the twenties and low thirties, we didn't have much opportunity to enjoy the grounds and animals. In fairer weather, there would be much more to explore.

Blue Ridge Heaven

Thank you Alton for the most enjoyable stay at Fairhill Farm. The cottage was totally comfortable, beautiful and cozy. Our stay was nothing short of idyllic. We so enjoyed the farm that I almost didn't leave....one day we spent relaxing on the deck watching the miniature horses and taking in the views. Alton is a most gracious host and we so enjoyed meeting him and chatting for a bit. What an interesting, intelligent, and thoughtful man. We hope to return to this beautiful, secluded farm in the future when we crave a bit of Blue Ridge heaven.

Great Getaway

If you are looking for a place to get away and relax, this is a great option! Nice space, amazing views, friendly animals, and access to wineries and historic sites! Plus a pool with a view! We plan to visit again!

Idyllic Setting, well appointed Carriage House

This place is heaven on earth. We spent the days hiking in Shenandoah National Park and the mornings and evenings happily ensconced on this working farm, with the cattle, horses, mules, and cats. You look out the window to see beautiful pasture land and mountains. It is charming!

Beautiful place to relax!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the Carriage House. It was a perfect place to decompress with beautiful Mountain View’s, acres of cow pastures and just being away from all the hustle and bustle! Skyline Drive was only 15 minutes away and we hiked beautiful trails to the Rose Falls and South River Falls! We will definitely visit again!

Lovely Change of Pace

We found the carriage house to be a perfect and cozy studio to snuggle into on a frigid February weekend. Even in freezing weather the farm is lovely and the trails were a pleasure to explore. And the view from the bed itself is pretty great! We could have just stayed in bed and been perfectly happy gazing at the mountains.
