We rent vacation houses twice a year for the past 27 years and this house was by far the best equipped house we have ever stayed at. It had everything from extra toiletries to blenders, to beach equipment to super plush outdoor cushions etc. There was nothing we needed. The house is also walkable to town for bars and restaurants. It’s amazing! We had a blast.

All-time best St. Simons beach house

We’ve rented at least 7 different beach houses in St. Simons over the years, and this one is hands-down our favorite. Newly renovated, gorgeously decorated, equipped with everything you could want, and perfect location on the water with views of Jekyll and a short walk from the pier village. The pool is so close to the ocean that you feel like you’re sitting on the beach. The kitchen is ideal for those who like to cook, with brand new, high-end appliances. It’s a dream beach house for any size group!

Wonderful stay!

This is an amazing property for a family, with lots of private space and gorgeous views. Equipped with everything you need and then some. Exceeded expectations (and I had high expectations).

Water Front

Wonderful Property

The home was lovely and perfect for our family. We would certainly stay here again. Communication with the owner was easy and responses were quick. We had no issues while we were there, and this property is certainly a gem.

We LOVED this place!

The mermaid house was perfect for our family vacation! It had plenty of space for all of us and lots of privacy. We loved the big kitchen. It was great how convenient it was to everything. We definitely want to come back. Thanks for having us!

The perfect location!

The house exceeded our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed the month that we spent relaxing by the ocean. It’s the perfect location and an ideal place to get away to . We also thoroughly enjoyed getting know Anne - she went to above and beyond to make sure that our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Incredible location and ambiance!

This property was more than we’d anticipated! The pictures are beautiful but somehow it was more beautiful in person. The house situated our family perfectly, it was right in the water, close to the pier and shopping, and all around an incredible vacation for our family. Highly recommend!

Best place on the Island!

The views were stunning! The Balconies were everywhere. The kitchen was huge! We walked to Town. I can't even explain how fantastic this house was. Look no further, book it baby!

Gorgeous, well thought out and maintained location

My sisters and I really enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid House with its gorgeous 3-stories with a balcony on each floor overlooking the view of the sound where we saw sailboats and dolphins as well as the Jekyll Island Coast and the beautiful Sydney Lanier Bridge in the distance . We enjoyed the fact that it is within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and the lighthouse museum. The owners thought of everything in the home. It is well maintained and has so many amenities throughout that we felt right at home!

Perfection personified

Our group of 3 couples all agreed this property fulfilled every need you could have. We loved the large open main floor and 2 porches but the amazing kitchen is a bonus. The entire house is decorated with a beach theme with great colors. All 4 bedrooms are situated to allow complete privacy and have very comfortable beds. Can’t wait to return!

Perfect space for a family

The house was great for a grown family. Tons of space and a walk to amenities. We had a super break. House is well organized. Equipped and the house manager was attentive and communicative. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning! The house, view and location makes this one of the best stays on SSI. So much to do, we couldn’t decide what to do. I am especially missing my early mornings spent sitting up on the cozy top balcony listening to the changing tides and watching the huge ships roll by…suddenly appearing out of nowhere. What a thrill! We enjoyed fishing and walking the expansive beach at low tide. Lots of sitting out and swimming by water’s edge. Perfect location to watch fireworks. Owners were very accommodating and thought of everything. We hope to be back soon!!!

Great getaway for our large family

This is our family’s second stay at the mermaid house; we absolutely love it! The property is exactly as pictured. It feels warm and authentic - like you’re staying at your best friend’s beach house instead of a generic rental property. The location can’t be beat! Not only is it oceanfront, it’s also just a couple of blocks from all the shops and restaurants at the village, the pier, lighthouse, and Neptune park. The mermaid house is perfect for our 3 generation family vacation. Plenty of space for everyone and a week’s worth of wholesome family fun!

Fiends Reunion

Three couples enjoyed a long weekend at the Mermaid House. Large, roomy home with great kitchen and plentiful bedrooms, baths and outdoor spaces. Beach access is very limited, but we just drove down the beach to other access points so no real hassle for our group. Elevator is a plus for getting our stuff in and out of our cars. Two refrigerators were helpful too.

Wonderful.

Perfect house for us over the holiday. Spacious rooms with balcony. Very true to description. Has thought of everything you need. Nicely decorated, elevator we didn’t use , quick couple blocks to stores, restaurants, park and beach you can walk at any time. Comfortable beds.During low tide you can walk the beach in front of house but views were so great we didn’t miss at high tide and again, just a few blocks away can walk low or high tide. Nice surprise to have small tree decorated for the holiday. Quiet street.

The perfect getaway.

This is our second time stating at Laura’s beautiful home and it is just as lovely as ever. The theme of the house is “mermaid” so there are lots of sweet pieces of art throughout this three story home equipped with an elevator for ease of moving groceries and luggage to the upper floor. The garage is full of beach toys and bikes. Everything is perfectly clean and the outdoor swing on the second level is the perfect spot for reading and listening to the waves. Spectacular.

The perfect spot!

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The location is ideal, just a short two blocks from the village and in a beautiful neighborhood. We had dogs with us and this location had great neighborhood walking as well as easy access to the beach when the tide was down. The house is very comfortable and spacious, the kitchen large and well equipped. And the porch off the living room....that bed swing was worth the trip on its own! Very comfortable outside furniture. We even enjoyed a few evenings by the gas powered fire pit by the water. While we enjoyed watching the progress on the dismantling of the shipwreck, can’t wait for next year when the view is of Jeckyll Island instead!
