Stayed on a Sunday. Very Peaceful. No Road Traffic and I felt very safe in Southend on Sea, during the Winter months. I returned, late at night, returnin from a show at the Cliffs Pavillion

Value for money was good. Attentive staff and a good quality breakfast. Room and en-suite were clean - bit of a draught from a window/curtain that needs updating (room 15). Overall excellent and will definitely re-book in the future.

It’s more of a guest house than a hotel. Decent location for the front and within walking distance of the centre. Stayed in a double room which was clean and comfortable. Large TV showing football in the bar and Stella on draught at a reasonable price. Breakfast was ok. Staff friendly.

Pros: Great location Free on-site parking Friendly and helpful staff Nice bedding and towels Nice breakfast with delicious hot chocolate Cons: Our room on this occasion not as nice our previous stay. More suited as a single, tiny bathroom with very low water pressure In the room 1 armchair had a few holes in it, maybe it should be removed Small table quite shabby, an easy fix would be to cover with a small tablecloth. Door missing from sliding door wardrobe.

What a lovely hotel. We stay in Southend a lot - the place we used to stay at closed, so this was our first time trying somewhere new. We are so pleased with our choice. The staff are lovely, the rooms clean & comfortable, & the breakfast is a stand-out. We can’t wait to go back. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely spacious room with modern clean bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast, the full English set us up for the day! We would definitely stay there again, really close to the Cliffs Theatre, so brilliant for staying over after a show.

Our experience was a good one . Bertie and his wife were very hospitable towards us both and made us welcome to there hotel. Breakfast was excellent they me poached eggs which was well boiled and spot on. The room looked adequate for the money that we paid for and was also clean . We didn't use the bar . If I'm heading to Southend on Sea again ,I would like return again .

Great Southend Hotel

Lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Facilities in room are excellent including mini fridge. Lovely little bar area and lounge. Good location. Friendly helpful staff. Best breakfast of anty hotel I have stayed in Fresh cooked to order and served to table. Evening meals available. Car park but if full voucher given for on street parking.

Quaint and cosy

Excellent stay, breakfast was lovely, also had a veggie option for full English. Bed was really comfortable I slept better there than I do at home. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meal was delicious. As previous reviews have said it is a little dated and worn in places, but it felt like the seaside b&b of yesteryear. We will definitely visit again.
