The space is a very typical good quality hotel room, it was not very spacious but enough for our needs. The hotel has a pool and gym which we used as we stayed 2 nights. Breakfast (included) was wonderful and lunch and dinner (separate) was also very delicious. Earplugs can be handy as the mosque call to prayer starts very early and is repeated throughout the day.

Had a Transit Package a week ago and I already knew that when it was time to stay here.., that I’d love it. And indeed, I did. Beautiful lobby. Amazing staff. My room on the third floor had views over the water. Nothing was too difficult. I had a very early flight and would therefore miss breakfast, so it was all organised for me, to have a breakfast box prior to check out. Forgot a couple of items, and the staff were quick to respond to say they’d located them and have them there for me when I come back next week for another stay. Excellent. Highly recommend.

For staying in Sorong, there aren’t many options so this is not bad in comparison. The only other nicer hotel is the Aston which if you’re flying out the next day would probably be better since it’s so close to the airport. The room overall was ok, the bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. There was a small stain on the edge of the bed but wasn’t worth bringing up to staff. The bathroom is really odd, the shower is one of those half enclosed ones so the water just poured out onto the floor, eventually flooding into the bathroom floor making the whole bathroom wet. The gym has very limited weights and a couple treadmills which I used as I am training for a race at the moment. The AC in the gym was so bad that it felt like a sauna while running. I was sweating so much I couldn’t get through my entire run. The restaurant wasn’t bad and we were satisfied with our meal. If I didn’t have to fly out the next day I would probably stay here again. It’s very basic but works if none of the above is a problem for you.

I stayed here upon recommendation of the cruise staff. NEVER STAY THERE! The air conditioning didnt work,there was no hot water and the pool was out of service.To add insult to injury, when I checked out I placed my wallet on the counter and a hotel employee attenpted to steal it. He was caught on the security footage and at first said he was picking up a piece of garbage but when the police arrived said that he gave it to housekeeping to secure and they returned it. (even though he was,standing a few feet from the ftont desk). The only positive was the good breakfast.

Swis Bel Hotel - Sorong

Was a descent stay. Rooms had a/c units that barely worked, black mold in the bathrooms. Food in the restaurant was great. Staff was friendly. Confirm about shuttle / taxis from Airport. We completed it at time of reservation and when we were traveling and couldn't get internet, we received so many emails about confirming our taxi rides.

Had high hopes

We had high hopes as it came recommended. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite up to the hype. There were AC problems and black mold in the bathroom that ended up getting most of our friends sick after breathing it in. There was also mold found in the refrigerator as well. In addition, unless there is a key card in the slot, all power in the room - including the fridge and AC - would shut off as soon as you took it out making everything work extra hard and helping to create the mold situation.

SMALL BATHROOM

OVERALL THE STAY WAS GOOD FOR THE PRICE PAID BUT THE SIZE OF THE BATHROOM IS TOO SMALL! i COULD NOT SIT ON THE TOILET PROPERLY WITHOUT BEING IN THE WALL AND THE DOOR OPENS UP TO THE TOILET.

This was our second stay. Rooms are tidy. Laminate flooring is a little tired and maybe not greatest selection for a tropical environment but not a deal breaker. Lobby and dining facilities are very nice. Outdoor dining area is also a plus. Staff are really great so big shout out to them. Breakfast buffet has lots of choices and I’d think has something for everyone. We ate dinner a la carte and that, too, was tasty. I like to try street food but didn’t think that it was wise this time around. Booked a third night for when we come back from our liveaboard trip so that should say something. Beds were comfy too.

The balcony wooden gate was broken, my husband almost fall from the balcony, he would have died. Do not get close to the balcony's bars. Decent place to spend a night.
