Great outdoor spaces and views with treats

We are not for sure who Barbara is that is on the listing, but we certainly dealt with some great folks in renting this villa. The person meeting us in town and guiding us to the villa was Georgia. Do be aware that although the listing notes the check in time as 1:00, we could not check in until 3:00, not a real problem for us. The lady that owns the villa is Mania and she is wonderful. She kept us fed and in all kinds of great treats. A lovely lady. The villa is about 10 minutes, by car, outside of the great town with the beach and many restaurants. You do need a car to stay here as it is a drive to all activities. The villa has three great outside living spaces which we were able to use most of our trip. When is rained and turned cool for a couple of days, the inside dining was not that great but doable. The inside was very eclectic in decoration and a bit dark. This was not a problem as we spent almost all time outside. The bed is adequate but very firm. We would not classify the kitchen as a gourmet kitchen, but we made a couple of very nice, simple meals there. The bath and shower were great. It is worth staying for the views and the hospitality.

Delightful property above Sitia.

We thoroughly embraced the peace and quiet on offer at this house. Both inside and out it is charming and well equipped with furniture, utensils and an outdoor kitchen. Our host Mania, living next door, is generous with her cooking expertise and wonderful food. Georgia did a superb job of meeting and guiding us there after dark, and visited us again to say farewell the evening before we had to (sadly) leave! We enjoyed trips to Kato Zakros, walked the gorge, and viewed the Minoan ruins (and were the only people on the beach); to Vai/Bai and its palm trees a couple of occasions; and to the Toplos Monastery. The atmosphere in Sitia itself is so welcoming that we spent several days there swimming, strolling, chatting and discovering local craft workers. We bring home sweet memories and a bit of a tan....thank you Home Away!

Ein schöner Urlaub, den wir lange nicht vergessen werden.

Wir haben dieses tolle Haus gemietet, in dem wir uns gleich wie zu Hause fühlten. Wir durften Mania, mit ihrer typischen griechischen Gastfreundschaft kennenlernen und haben viele tolle urige Ecken auf Kreta entdeckt. Gleich bei der Ankunft wurden wir, obwohl in der Nacht, liebevoll von Mania empfangen und freuten uns sehr über Obst, Gemüse und einen sehr liebevoll zusammengestellten Präsentkorb, der mit selbstgemachten leckeren Marmeladen, Gebäck, Olivenöl und Raki gefüllt war, alles war in der Küche für uns bereit gestellt. So konnte gleich der erste Morgen mit einem leckeren Frühstück beginnen. Haus und Grundstück waren wundervoll, wir durften sogar Marias großen Pool benutzen - einfach herrlich. Obwohl nicht alles perfekt war, etwas zu viel Deko, das Badezimmer hat keine richtige Tür oder die Gästecouch als drittes Bett, hat es uns hier sehr gefallen. Viele Ausflugsziele sind in 30 - 45 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar gewesen, so dass wir viel unternehmen konnten und es nie langweilig wurde. Auch konnten wir Mania immer nach allem fragen, sie stand uns gern mit Rat und Hilfe zur Seite. Wir werden die tollen Abende auf der Terrasse im Schaukelstuhl mit einem guten Wein unter dem unendlichen Sternenhimmel sehr vermissen. Übrigens, wer keine Lust auf Strand mit Schirmchen und Liegen hat, sollte die Badesachen immer im Auto haben und ruhig entlang der Küste nach einer der vielen ruhigen und fast menschenleeren Buchten Ausschau halten, wir haben mehrere mit feinem Sandstrand entdeckt. Es war ein wirklich richtig toller Urlaub für uns. Abschließend noch einmal ein dickes Dankeschön und ganz liebe Grüße an Mania nach Kreta von Antje, Holger und Sophie.

Erholung und Nostalgie pur

Wir haben 8 Tage bei Mania genießen dürfen und sind sehr liebevoll begrüßt und versorgt worden. Das Haus und die Einrichtung ist in einem sehr nostalgischen Stil gehalten. Die Küche ist reichhaltig und zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Es gibt im Außenbereich mehrere stilvolle Sitzgelegenheiten für Sonnen- und Schattenplätze. Sehr zu empfehlen, wer einen ruhigen Ort für erholsamen Urlaub sucht.

Exceptionnel

Notre séjour a été un rêve dans cette villa magnifique. Tout est parfait, le confort exceptionnel,la décoration somptueuse et d'un raffinement rare. Mania, la propriétaire, une personne généreuse,discrète et extrémement sympathique, nous a conseillés sur nos lieux de visites, sur les meilleurs commerces de Sitia. Nous nous sommes régalés de poissons, de bons fromages, de légumes succulents, de raisins, d'oranges........... Les mots manquent pour décrire notre ressenti. Nous n'oublierons jamais le ciel étoilé que nous contemplions tous les soirs,sirotant un petit verre de Raki, le petit déjeuner sous le grand parasol blanc devant la porte d'entrée, le chant des cigales............ Cet endroit ressemble à un paradis. Dominique et Denis.

le paradis !

Nous avons passez deux semaines extra, vous pouvez compter sur l accueil irréprochable de la famille Doukas qui parle très bien français et anglais, vous prépare des petits plats délicieux, est de bon conseils pour les bons plans resto et visites, toujours dispos si on a le moindre besoin mais la cerise sur la gâteau c est la maison qui est magnifique , décorée avec gout et des panoramas a couper le souffle.

Wir haben hier unseren, bisher schönsten Urlaub verbracht.

Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und überaus hilfsbereit. Das Haus ist ideal für ein Paar oder eine kleine Familie mit 3 Personen. Es wurde 2 mal in der Woche sauber gemacht, es war Urlaub von der ersten Sekunde an.
