The hotel is looking a little tired, needs a bit of sprucing up but apart from that we had a good stay. Very friendly and efficient check in and lovely comfortable bed.

TERRIBLE!!!!!

For a DoubleTree Hilton Hotel, it was terrible!! The gym was shockingly worn out. Treadmill had a whole in the belt. We ate in the bar, had to go and find someone to serve more than once, starter came out with the mains and the guy just shrugged, and the food was horrible. Breakfast was just as bad. I stay in a lot of hotels, but never been so disappointed.

Excellent greeting at reception but ground floor to Room 060 needs attention. Doors, wallpaper, skirting poor. Room v good. Sourdough bread rock hard with Camembert in bar meal and we should have sent it back as uneatable. Generally we enjoyed our stay and staff were excellent

The property is a little dated but the rooms are clean. We were disappointed to find that we couldn’t use ethernet cables to connect to the internet and our work laptops wouldn't work on the public wifi (due to VPN security). The lounge bar is a bit disappointing - no ambiance - just a TV at the end of the room that was showing golf when we stopped by for a drink. We didn’t have breakfast and we didn’t try the restaurant for dinner so I can’t comment on the food or restaurant ambiance. The hotel seems overpriced but there isn’t much choice in the area. Casa Hotel in Chesterfield is a good cheaper alternative at the other end of the dual carriageway but the location isn’t ideal if you want to be based in Sheffield!

Great reception

The reception team were amazing and made the check in very welcoming. Top marks to them ! Sadly there was a fire alarm in the middle of the night, so a poor sleep but this was not a reflection of the hotel. Very average burger (meat quality) in the Marco Pierre White restaurant and a number of items on the menu not available.

Time to update it!

The hotel service was excellent, staff were really pleasant but the hotel needs an update as the rooms and many common areas look tired. It also has very thin walls and you get awakened by noise at night.

Friendly and welcoming staff. The air in the room was very poor. CO2 levels on 1800-2200 if we didn't open the window. The ventilation just circulated the air. Had to sleep with the window open to get the co2 down and made the room cold and damp due to the February weather.
