It is an old residential apartment building. Some units of it are converted and used for hotel service apartments. The room is decorated with old Shanghai feel. Very interesting. It is an old building, but the room is well kept and maintained. The staffs are nice and friendly. It has a very good location. A big shopping plaza is just across the street with a big food court. Convenient store, drug store are nearby. MRT station is at about 5 minute walking. My only dislike is the soundproofing of this old building. People moving chair at upstairs at night, the local residents talking loudly in the early morning created disturb noises to my sleeping. Overall, it is good.

Convenient but too many problems

Convenient for getting around as close to Jing’an Temple & the metro station. The first apartment was a large room with a bookcase separating the sleeping & living areas. The toilet was poor & wouldn’t stop flushing initially. But, we arrived back c10:30pm on our 2nd night to find water dripping steadily from the ceiling. A staff member came quite quickly but didn’t really want to move us till the next day until we pointed out a 2nd new damp patch. She then moved us but it was a much smaller room than we’d paid for, though mercifully no leaks and a better toilet. I assume it would have cost us less but there was no offer of a refund. There weren’t any staff available when we checked out & we couldn’t hang around as we had a train to catch but the security man downstairs took our key card and gave us our deposit back. The walls in the 2nd apartment were heavily scuffed and both apartments needed redecorating. The ceiling of the 1st apartment showed very clear evidence of previous leaks which wasn’t very encouraging but was prescient for what happened. I’d like to recommend but I think they need to put more effort into maintenance to make it good value for the price paid.
