Whether hiking, skiing—or simply relaxing by the lake: Lake Spitzingsee in the Miesbach district offers a wide variety of outing options.
An overview:
Crystal-clear water, nestled in the Bavarian Pre-Alps at an airy elevation of 1,100 meters: The picturesque Spitzingsee is one of Bavaria’s largest mountain lakes—and impresses visitors in both summer and winter. The area is often considered one of the most beautiful recreational regions in Bavaria.
Mountain tours: Numerous mountain lifts are located right near the lake, including the Taubensteinbahn and the Stümpflingsbahn.
Swimming and Pedal Boats: Whether it’s expansive sunbathing lawns or small coves, Spitzingsee offers plenty of spots for swimming. After enjoying the cool water, visitors can rent a pedal boat, electric boat, or SUP by the hour on the southern shore.
Ski Resort: The Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski resort is located right next to Spitzingsee. The slopes around Strümpfling and Roßkopf connect the two picturesque valleys.
