so there is nobody at the Front desk around 6 pm although we understood there will be somebody from 10am until 10pm or so... Luckily a gentleman helped my husband with the machine to check in BUT he had no clue either and had to call somebody.. I DO NOT know how seniors will cope with this although I know a lot are very tech savvy.. My hubby is not .. SO LUCKY another guest helped but he was not happy EITHER

Had to check in at the hotel across the street as there was no one working réception at the Fraser motel and the automated check in machine was out of service. Had to wait a long time at the desk at the other hotel because there was just one employee and the phones were ringing off the hook. Had to go back twice because my keys did not work . Bathroom was a bit dirty with toothpaste residue on the sink.

I’ve stayed in Rivière Du Loup in many types of hotels/motels. The Fraser is a great price for a clean, modern, quiet room with a distant view of the water. The bed and pillows were heavenly. The coffee in the lobby wasn’t my favourite but Starbucks is across the road ready to take your order.

Nobody at desk at night

The rooms were very clean and nice. Check-in was easy once we figured out how to do it. Unfortunately, at our later time of arrival, there was no one at the Fraser kiosk, and instructions were not left as to how to check in. We were incredibly fortunate that another guest had just experienced this same issue and told us that we have to check in at the hotel across the street. This could have been a horrendous experience had we not ran into someone else.

Our first experience with self check-in, never saw a live person but it was very simple. The room looks like they have recently been updated and the bathroom was definitely very new. No ice bucket in room. Ice can be found at check in but only paper cups to carry them in. That’s was fine but no hairdryer was a minus. We will come back

The grounds were well maintained and exceptionally large. Unfortunately there were no staff to assist with check-in and even though the person in front of me was talking to someone on the help phone, when I picked it up to get assistance no one answered. It rang for over 5 minutes without anyone ever picking up. I did manage to fumble my way through check-in on my own. Went to the coffee area in the morning, had to clean out the grounds from the coffee maker to get it to work. Extra towels were nonexistent. All in all, looks like there are no employees. They might send people over to clean out rooms, machines and restock everyfew days or even once a week.

Great spot for the night. Very clean. Comfortable bed. The washroom was a little small but the shower was spacious and had very hot water. Liked the contactless check in. They have a room where you can get extra blankets, sheets and towels along with ice, use a microwave and there is a coffee-latte machine - just use room key. Would stay there again.

Expedia screwed up our whole check in and it took us 3 hours to get it resolved. By the time it was all said and done, the room was just a place to sleep - we missed out on experiencing the area/town because of the whole thing with Expedia. We will NOT book through Expedia again, as this is not the first time we’ve been disappointed in their service. Nadine at the hotel was very patient, helpful and empathetic as we sorted things out and I appreciated her help. Seems like a cute little place but very small, sparsely furnished rooms (nightstand on only one side of the bed, no counter in the bathroom) and paper thin walls. We used a white noise app so we didn’t have to listen to our neighbour snore, but considering the hotel was half empty it would have been nice to be spaced out a little more from other guests. All in all the room served it’s purpose and was very clean.

There were a number of issues at this motel which caused us to have a stressful experience, and as a result I would not recommend it. The self-serve check in kiosk also does not work effectively. After confirming our arrival and getting our key cards, we were not told which room we were in, and had to call for help. At that point, you might as well have an in-person reception! Additionally, our room had not been cleaned. We needed to sleep pretty much straight away, but the bedsheets were covered in hairs. The pillows stank of somebody else's cologne. The receptionist who we spoke to was apologetic enough, but clearly embarrassed, and moved us to the next (thankfully clean) room. It was hard to wind down after this, particularly with the noise bleed from other rooms. The checkout experience was just as confusing. We had to leave in the middle of the night, but the kiosk was unable to locate our reservation, so I ended up dropping the key cards in the box and hoping for the best. We received an email with a link to confirm our departure later that day - if we knew this, we would have been much less worried about getting our deposit back. Overall I'm very disappointed in the quality of experience for the money. This establishment clearly needs better management, and I'm upset that I spent all those points. The whole point of this booking was to treat us to a relaxing sleep in the middle of our journey, and it turned out to be a very expensive nap.
