With NO advance notice whatsoever, we were notified at check in that we were bumped to another "sister hotel" a mile away. This was NOT a last minute reservation. With no alternative, we re-packed the car and drove to another hotel farther from our purpose for traveling there to find it completely under construction. We made a reservation for a king bed, but were given two smaller separate beds. Only one elevator worked and we were on the 3rd floor. They know how to make the reservation, but not how to hold the reservation. We had a less desirable room, farther away, under under construction. NOTHING given or even offered for the inconvenience. I am surprised that Hotels.com would allow such treatment of a long-time, or ANY of their customers.
