Our stay at this Cape San Blas rental was filled with issues that severely impacted our trip. We arrived at 2:30am, only to find the gate codes were incorrect, leaving us stranded outside. Once inside, we were welcomed by a deceased rat on the doorstep.The home itself had safety concerns, including broken tiles on the stairs and a main floor tub that wouldn’t drain—complete with a plunger left beside it, suggesting management knew of the issue. Cleanliness was also lacking; we found a roach in the kitchen, and the microwave was literally held together with duct tape.Despite advertising a hot tub, there wasn’t one onsite. Our inquiry about this received no response. Parking was another major problem. Overflow parking was full, and although we moved our vehicles promptly when contacted, we were still told it was “unacceptable” due to an HOA failure to reinspect. We were then threatened with fines over alleged sprinkler damage, which we disproved with photo evidence—again, no reply.We were even questioned about exceeding occupancy limits based solely on our vehicle size, despite being well within the allowed number.Between the poor maintenance, lack of communication, and intrusive HOA behavior, our experience was frustrating and stressful. We won’t be staying here again and can’t recommend it to others.
