Villa LIZ with pool and whirlpool at the heart of Tuscany, surrounded by a large forested park – ideal for a quiet holiday amidst nature

The beautiful, independent villa with a private pool and a whirlpool lies at the heart of Tuscany, close to Florence, at 470 metres above sea level.

The villa provides a total living space of 140 m², with three elegant bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a big living room and a kitchen. From the main entrance, you enter the big living room on the left, with antique sofas, a fireplace, satellite TV and a games table, as well as an extendable dining table by the stone wall. Next to the living room there is the kitchen, equipped with an electric oven, a stove with an electric ring and four gas rings, an extractor fan, a sink, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and access to one of the loggias. To the right of the main entrance there is a sliding door opening into a bedroom suitable for the disabled. It has an ensuite bathroom with a washbasin, WC, bidet and floor-level shower. The utility room with a washing machine is also on the ground floor. Opposite the main entrance there are stairs made of wood and wrought iron, with 15 steps, leading to the first floor. On the left side there is a large, elegant bedroom (20 m²) with antique furniture and its own bathroom with a window, shower, washbasin, bidet and WC. On the right side there is a further elegantly decorated bedroom (28m²) with antique furniture and a little work area. There is access to a big bathroom with a window, corner bath, bidet, washbasin and WC.

Outside there are two loggias. The first measures 25 m² and provides access to the kitchen. It has an antique wood-burning stove and is furnished with a table and chairs. As it has lighting, it is ideal for dining outdoors. Just 2m from the loggia, along the way to the house (suitable for wheelchair users), there is the barbecue with a sink, worktop and grill. The second 25m² loggia was recently fully glazed, so it can also be used during the colder months of the year. It has heating and boasts a cosy whirlpool with five seats, chromotherapy and music – enjoy romantic evenings with candlelight and a great view of the Valle del Casentino. The big pool (5 x 12 m) with Roman steps is 30m from the main entrance to the house. It has a shower also suitable for the disabled. Recently guests will also find a beautiful whirlpool. The sunny terrace around the pool offers a gazebo, sofas, a games table, sun loungers, deckchairs, chairs and parasols. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Poppi castle and Sacro Monte de la Verna. Opposite the pool there is a playground for children and adults with a table tennis table. The site includes a park with centuries-old oak, chestnut, stone oak, acacia and pine trees, surrounding guests with colours, fragrances and fruits at any time of year and where you can feel like a true part of nature. If you cross the park, where you may encounter wild rabbits, squirrels, owls and buzzards, you arrive at the villa, which owing to its location offers a view of landscapes that appear as paintings: the pilgrimage destination della Verna in the east, the medieval castle of Poppi in the west. The Pratomagno mountain chain in the south and the millennia-old forest Foreste Casentinesi, now a national park, in the north.

The past and the present meet here and allow guests to experience nature in harmony with the manmade. The owners welcome guests with their specialities on arrival and prepared once a week. The Adriatic coast is about 90 minutes away by car, the Tyrrhenian Sea about two hours. You can also swim in the lake 1.5 km from the centre of Pratovecchio, or in the Arno River. You can go on trips to the zoo at Poppi, the pilgrimage church della Verna, the Camaldoli hermitage and the Foreste Casentinesi National Park. Florence is an hour’s drive away, Arezzo 40 minutes and Siena 90 minutes. From Arezzo you can take the express train to Rome in just an hour and five minutes, so day trips are possible.
