'Located on the left bank of Neretva River, it is believed that the fortified complex was built in 1383 by Bosnia's King Stjepan Tvrtko I. Medieval and Ottoman-Mediterranean influences can be clearly traced here.
Local's Tip: Lose yourself in the streets of the fortified town, which is a very well preserved one, climb into the top of the highest construction and play a game of shadows and lights with your camera.
Watch the local artists and craftsmen in action and choose some of the handmade souvenirs to take home with you.
Last but not least, don't forget to explore the surrounding hills, full of pomegranate trees.'
