I was upgraded to one if the newly refurbished suites. The room was spotlessly clean, stylish and fresh, comfortable and spacious, with nice little extra finishing. I would definitely recommend the suite (budget permitting, as the quality of the room is reflected in price) for those spending a lot of time in the room. I was mostly looking to spend my time to de stress, relax and rest. Superior rooms are also spacious and comfortable, although as far as I know, are mostly unique, i have noticed some aren’t as well equipped than others. Although, all suitable if you are going out and about more, I find they are the best value for money. The smaller rooms are lovely for a one night stay or if travelling light. I recommend making use of the spa facilities and well equipped gym. Both are clean, with all the main equipment and facilities. You can pay for treatments as extra. I have tried out a few massages, which were great for sleep and recovery from gym workouts! The staff are what makes this hotel really stand out from the rest. I cannot speak highly enough of the girls at reception, management team, and housekeeping staff. Customer service is extremely important to me, and nothing was a problem for the aforementioned staff, they made me feel comfortable, listened to and a valued returning guest. They are friendly, professional and polite. Certain staff at the pool/spa are also lovely, helpful and friendly. The bar staff were a slight let down, being fair, they were very busy.

We loved our brief stay! Perfect for a stopover on the long drive from Sussex to Scotland. Ideally situated and clean with friendly staff and great facilities. The restaurant food was excellent, too - we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Our children loved their bunk beds in our room! Will almost certainly visit again.

The hotel was beautiful, rooms lovely and clean! The swimming pool and spa facilities, steam room were very good and very relaxing! The food at the FYR restaurant on site was lovely and reasonably priced aswell. The only cons I would say is that the drinks at the bar and and the pool are very expensive, considering the amount you are spending on everything else, in my opinion they don’t need to be that expensive. Overall had a very relaxing weekend, and I would return.

Fabulous upgrade to a newly decorated suite, thanks! Beautiful space and going to try and book to go again with my husband. Didn’t get time to use the facilities this time but there’s a charge to use unless you book direct. The allocation for the evening meal on the HB package is £35. You can pay extra if you so wish. We happened to be seated next to the grill area so got chatting with the cook there. I had the most amazing steak - perfectly seasoned with a sauce. He also advised on the type/size of steak options. Based on what we saw my friend had a burger. It was lush and my steak was certainly the nicest in a long time. Chips came with a herb on which detracted from the flavour and we both left a lot. Ordinary fries or plain chips would have been better. Great breakfast next day and decent sized beakers to get a drink from of machine. Lush hot choc! Two guys were on their phones at different tables discussing work matters close to me which detracts from a relaxing brekky. I was almost going to move as it went on maybe ten mins. Hospitality nationally needs to consider signs asking people to consider the impact of such calls on other diners. Selfish! The chap two tables up said he didn’t want something going in the press but he talked about it. Despite this, it’s my third stay at this hotel and can recommend. Easy for M6 proximity and half way stage for my friend and I to meet. We usually book a separate room too so we can sleep well which I did with hotels. Com.

This hotel was ideal for my 2 night stay in Penrith. The room was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee facilities and robes/slippers available for the pool and/or spa. Pool and gym opening hours were good and the gym is well equipped. Staff in all areas were helpful and friendly. The restaurant menu offered a varied selection and I ate there on both evenings. The atmosphere overall was relaxing. It was an ideal place to stay for my first visit to Penrith and I'd be happy to stay again.
