I feel like I scored big time when I checked into the Sandat last Monday night. The front desk staff were extremely nice and checked me in and got me to my room quickly. The room was a tiny bit small but it was brand sapnkin’, new extremely clean and overlooked the pool, which is also brand new and beautiful. The next morning I went down to breakfast and again was greeted by incredible staff. I ate every meal at the restaurant for six days. I got “Bali Belly” (food poisoning) at the Surf camp I was at in North Sumatra just a week earlier and it was hell, so I was very concerned about getting it again. I had only exceptional meals at the Sandat Restaurant, with the burger being the shining star. The location is A+ and is literally next door to Mana, the “it” spot for sunset happy hour. The Friday happy hour at Mana, looked like a party during fashion week in Miami. Just teeming with models. The best spa experience in all of Uluwatu, The Istana was 200 meters from the Sandat and the world famous surfbreak Uluwatu only 350 meters away. Another rooftop “it” spot, Single Fin is right above where the Uluwatu warangs are. So basically you can walk to four of the top places in all of the Uluwatu area by staying at the Sandat. For the value, location, the staff and all the brand new things, you cant beat the Sandat, its that good. They even gave me brand new rental scooter that other locals said “say, thats a nice bike” I hope the Sandat stays the same in all ways
