The listing agent of this property was dreadful to work with. He listed in the description that early check-in could be accommodated upon request. I spoke with him a month before and he said, "I have a lot of properties. You'll have to call me the day before. It's too soon to tell." I understand you may have clients book and not know yet. So, I waited until a week before. My email was disregarded and he never responded. I then called the day before as he previously said (even though it's very late) and he said the same thing. He has many properties and "you will need to call me tomorrow morning." This was the DAY OF check in. I explained how that was inconvenient because we needed to know what time to start driving to get there. He said, "Sorry. I don't know what to tell ya." When I called the next morning, he didn't check anything before quickly saying it was fine for us to come early.
Once arriving, the air was set extremely hot and there was NO water running. I called and was directed to voicemail. I called several times before I got ahold of him. He gave me instructions to turn on the water breaker and main valve. The next day we went to the lake and came back to take showers. There was no hot water. I called and was sent to voicemail again. I called again and he asked me to check the breaker, wait 30 minutes and then call him back. I did and there was still no hot water. He said, "Sorry about that. Maybe we need a new hot water heater. Nothing I can do about that now," and hung up. I messaged him explaining this was a basic amenity and we're expecting some reimbursement. He then quickly sent someone over and told me to "contact Vrbo." Throughout all of our exchanges, he knew none of the details of our stay or location. I had to provide everything to him every time. When someone arrived, they had never been to the building before and it was not him. This person found the water set to 40 degrees, when the heater goes to 120. At this point it was hours after returning from the lake. Upon leaving we were told to turn the water back to cold, off and air back up.
This man was extremely unprofessional throughout our entire stay and made it a difficult trip. The only reason to stay here is because of the size and nicety of the location. Overall, it's WAY too expensive to have this awful of a booking agent experience. There are other places who will respect your business.
