Wonderful week’s vacation at this rental. House is well-equipped, including a counter top ice maker. That was a lovely surprise! We were 6 people all week, 2 additional adults for a few days. Plenty of sleeping options, living area is roomy, comfortable, decorated very Adirondack-y, in a good way. Excellent location. Lake is stunning. So many things to do in the immediate area. Hosts very responsive.

When we first pulled up to the house, we were stunned by the driveway incline & number of stairs up to it, its a cute home/camp, however the housekeeping crew didn't leave the place in tip top shape. The host was wonderful & prompt, she had no idea to the hiccups we ran into. She did her best to make our stay great. We made the best of our trip & the Adirondacks.

Pleasant family vacation! The canoe and kayaks were a hit with the family. This is definitely a rustic cabin, the loft for kids is a converted attic space but it worked. Plenty of space for our family of 10. There was major construction going on at the house next door, wish we had known that in advance. We vacuumed as requested in the contract after unclogging the entire vacuum, not sure how anyone cleaned prior to that! Overall a nice weekend getaway.

Home was clean and easy to get into. There were many many stairs to the doors so if you have any mobility issues you will need to rethink the property. Smelled strongly of mothballs and then air freshener. But the amenities were accurately portrayed.

A must stay

Very conveniently located near water park and downtown. Three big bed rooms with two bathrooms. And a loft for the kids. Really nice boat house to chill and watch the water or boats. Great access to water for kayaking and canoeing. They also supplied a canoe. Highly recommended staying here.

Great trip

We had a group of 8 girls for our stay and had a great time. Property was as described and we had no complaints. Check in and out was easy and host was very responsive. Upstairs sleeping would be better for kids probably but otherwise comfortable. We would stay again. Thank you!

Great house for fishing

Our group rented the house for a week of fishing. The house is in a great location for fishing the Fulton Chain Lakes they have a great boat house that is nice and deep for fishing boats to dock at. The house is very comfortable with plenty of space for 5 grown men to relax in and everything that you need is there. We really enjoyed the patio on top of the boat house in the evening it was very comfortable and has a great view. The one day that we had rain we enjoyed just sitting on the screened in porch witch is also a bonus when the bugs are bad. Over all I would highly recommend this house it is a great place to use for a get away trip.

When you took a shower, outside you could smell the septic tank contents. The attic (where 5 beds were located) was closed off to the heat. It took 2 days before the heat reached there sufficiently. The multiple stairs were icy, the bathrooms tiny. The beds were lumpy. It was quaint and the price was good, but 3 star at best.

Family retreat

Nice space- not huge but in a good arrangement. Big kitchen with long picnic table. Full size refrigerator and stove . Nice front deck with lake view, for those who don’t like to walk down to the lake.🤔 kitchen well stocked with appliances, dishes, utensils, cooking tools. Decent amount of parking. Kayaks for use - fun! Life vests. We had 6 adults and a toddler. Plenty of room. We didn’t need to use the upstairs room with 5 single beds - good place for kids.

Picturesque!

If you want a vacation on the water, and in close proximity to Old Forge + Enchanted Forest, then this is the place for you. Here are some more reasons to rent: 1. Property manager is hospitable and quick to respond with any questions. 2. The view is incredible. 3. Go kayaking and fishing every day. 4. Plenty of room for friends, family, and children. 6. Close proximity to some popular hikes. 7. The price is right! I will be renting this property again.

Tons of space

We came to this beautiful property with friends and all our kids. There was plenty of space for them to chill and a loft for kids that they LOVED. On the adult side, everything was comfy with two queens and a king in the master. Dock accommodated our boat no problem and was great for fishing. The highlight is the top of the boathouse with an incredible view of the lake and plenty of space to unwind. Fire pit and provided wood made for some delicious smores and some relaxing round the flames. Perfect place for a medium-sized group. Good-sized kitchen with plenty of space for our group to prepare meals and eat. Lovely area at the foothills of the Adirondacks. If you’re heading into the town of Old Forge, bring cash. A lot of places are cash-only. And for boat owners, recommend the DEC launch at Eagle Bay on Fourth Lake. About a 30-minute boat ride to the property that’s quite a treat in and of itself. Enjoy, future visitors!

Great Location, But Be Prepared for Surprises

The property is conveniently located near Old Forge, and check-in was smooth. We genuinely enjoyed our time overall. However, there are several important details that weren’t disclosed in the listing—especially relevant if you or anyone in your group has mobility challenges.- Trash Disposal: Guests are responsible for taking their trash to an off-site location and must pay for disposal.- Layout Confusion: The house is on one side of the street, while the boat house (featured in the main photo) is across the street. The only level parking is in front of the boat house. - Water Access: Although the listing mentions a sandy bottom, there’s no safe entry or exit point—no ladder is provided, and access requires climbing over uneven boulders.- Stairs & Accessibility: Entry stairs are steep, uneven, and in poor condition. Additional staircases inside lead to the back bedrooms, which may be difficult for those with mobility concerns.- Ants & Food Storage: A note warns guests to store food due to ants, but no designated storage is provided. We kept everything in the fridge and still encountered ants.- Kid Area: the converted attic area is listed as play loft area, which was boarded up with plywood when we arrived, with no explanation.- A new home is being built next door. (Aug 2025)-Grill, cups, plates were filthy (no dishwasher)While the location is a highlight, the property itself is in serious need of renovation and a thorough cleaning.

Our overall stay was good, we had great weather, and the top of the boat house was amazing with the views of the lake. When we first entered the home, it smelled very stale like the windows have not been open in months. We found a candle and opened the windows before the rest of the guests came. There absolutely needs to be more lights on the outside stairs at night. The stairs are steep, and we had to use our lights on our phones to go up and down the stairs at night. It’s dangerous. The neighbors did watch our every move while we were outside and that was a bit of an uneasy feeling-we ended up not having a fire either night because we were being watched. The owner let us know before that we came about the neighbors. Not sure why this listing has a cleaning fee as we needed to sweep, vacuum, do dishes and put them all away, strip beds, and put any linen and towels that we used in the wash and ran through a cycle. Cleanliness of the house was ok.

A Mixed Experience

This is a difficult place to rate but I want to do it justice yet be honest so let's start with the good. There is a nice dock house roof to sit on, enjoy the lake, stars and a small fire pit; we enjoyed both a lot. The lake was very pretty and wildlife was amazing. The house was clean, however we were asked to fold and put away laundry as wells dry a load of wet laundry on arrival....not the nicest hello, we were told the maid was busy, she must have been still busy on departure because they wanted us to put a load of laundry in again. Typically I don't take vacations to do peoples laundry but maybe it's just me. The beds were comfortable but there were missing screens on many bedrooms so bugs came in. The A/C cannot be used because the unit is so loud you can't even talk over it much less sleep. We came here to let my soon to be mother in law have a probably last visit with all her Adirondack relatives. We had to cancel it because, unknown to us, there are 18 steep steps to get in the house then a stairway inside with no handrails. The driveway is at a 30 degree angle so the folks simply could not attend. There is also a road between the house and the lakeside deck, that's OK except the listed pictures are deceiving and made it seem like a lakeside home when it really isn't, again an issue for old folk. There was broken lighting along the stairs so at night the walk up is treacherous at best, this really needs to be addressed. We brought our boat 8 hours, assured that we could put in right at Old Forge. This is not true! Every marina refused to allow us to put in. The ONLY place you can go is the public access at Inlet, 10 miles away. Very hazardous; rocky and 24 mph winds both at put in and take out; very stressful! Then it's a 10 mile and 4 lake journey to the dockhouse at this rental. Beautiful, but the first time getting back, having no local knowledge, was bizarre and stressful. Once you learn the area it is really beautiful, but really, putting in 10 miles from the home should be noted, kind of a big deal! The owner insisted we do a run to the dump everyday to avoid animal issues. Fine, except it's a 5 mile round trip and they close at noon. This was supposed to be a vacation, people! Perhaps the strangest thing was that on arrival in the master bedroom bureau we were left a used thong and mens underwear. Pretty weird welcoming gift but hey. In short, would we recommend or stay here again? No.

What can you say!

Who doesn’t love the ADK. The place is a camp, and you take it for that. Plenty of room for all of us and the sundeck on the boathouse made a great space for late night conversation. We had a great time. The owner was get she answered all my wife’s questions. Hope to return one day!

Great location and place

Excellent experience. The place was clean and had nice amenities. Communication was excellent. Make sure that you have the linens included. I missed this when I booked the listing.

Great Location!

We had a great stay on the property. We booked it knowing it was a 'camp' and it was just that! The interior was much roomier than it appeared from the outside. The layout of the space was cut up, but the common areas were spacious and roomy. The stairs just about killed me by day three - but I'm sure it was good for me to get some extra exercise!! We did have an issue before checking in with the dog allowance, but the owner responded very promptly and took care of the issue immediately! We would stay again. Tammy B

Everything was great . The property is described well in the listing. I am looking forward to rebooking for next summer .
