The air conditioning was not working. No one came to repair the air conditioning after I reported it to the front desk on multiple occasions. One elevator was not working causing guests to wait. Other than these two issues, it was a nice place.

This was the worst travel experience I’ve ever had. I’ve had better accommodations in basic training. Before arriving, I called multiple times. On the sixth try, someone who sounded like a child told me to call back. After that, no one answered. When I got there, the lobby was full of upset guests. Staff said they couldn’t help people who booked through third parties, and some were being told to cancel and pay again. I thought I was safe using Travelocity. I wasn’t. Check-in seemed fine, aside from a random $25 fee. Then I opened my room and found an Australian man already staying there. He had been moved into my room earlier that day. I was given another room, but the keycards didn’t work. I was told the door battery was dead. Staff let me in and said it wouldn’t be fixed until morning, leaving me with no way to secure or access the room. Later that night, there was no staff at the desk. Another guest had been locked out for hours. None of us could reach anyone. I ended up trying to sleep in the lobby until someone finally returned, I explained what happened all she could say was that’s not possible so zero accountability. The only positive was hot water. The bed didn’t seem clean. This place has serious issues with safety, staffing, and management. Avoid it. It’s a scam. I have documented this “experience” along with others who endured similar issues. Honestly the hotel California sounds like less of a fever dream than the Lexington Plaza Hotel. Good luck!

The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. We had to switch to a different room three times. The first two rooms were freezing cold and the water wouldn't drain properly in the shower. The last room was still cold so they had to bring in two portable heaters and the water to take a shower would not heat up. The hotel didn't seem to have maintenance on duty so they just kept moving us around.

We check in to our room late at night go to sleep wake up to shower, all 3, thr shampoo, body wash and conditions were empty they were never refilled before we checked in. We had to request twice for them to come do it. Half the time the front counter person isn’t there, no one answers the room phones when calling the front desk. Room service staff you can’t communicate one word with them to get an understanding of what you need.

Staff was okay, the card wasn’t working which wasn’t anyone fault but the concierge gave us a different room with a functioning key card. The room was clean and had a lot of seating and counter space. A little disappointed not one of the outlets were usb but that was my fault for not bringing a wall charger.

Great for what you pay for. They let us keep our bags there before and after we checked out for a small fee. Strange reception and initial impressions but the room itself and location was great!
