The staff were amazing during our stay. We had to rebook our dates last minute, and the only rooms available in our budget for our special occasion romantic getaway were rooms with two double beds. We reached out to the hotel at the time of booking asking if they could let us know if any other rooms became available. We were very surprised when we arrived and were upgraded to a suite. The room was beautiful, the hotel was very clean and we never heard anything from neighboring rooms.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay - from checkin to checkout. All the staff were cheerful, helpful and courteous. We particularly liked the evening buffet - so many options and everything was beautifully presented and tasted great.

I stayed at 12 hotels while in New Zealand and this was the worst. If you are looking for half the amenities at twice the price then you will love this place. Everything points to GREEDY BAD management. I'm wondering if the positive reviews are fake. A note from the cleaner and a useless notebook doesn't even come close to making up for what is lacking. Where to start... -only a double bed and not even comfy! -just one small mirror! every other place provided a full length mirror -terrible lighting - the choice is bright and glaring or pitch dark; there is no in between and no bedside lamp either! what kind of hotel doesn't have a bedside lamp?! -only a few channels on the TV compared to every other place -only a blind on the windows so again it's all or nothing; would it hurt to provide sheer curtains as other places do so that there is a middle option between black out/can't see anything and on full display to the parking lot? -no kitchenette, yet other places provide a full kitchen for far less money -massive pillows that only a giant could use, meaning I had no pillow -be prepared to park 2 blocks away -slippery shower floor -poor water pressure -no freezer compartment in fridge -the bathroom light is the same switch as the SUPER LOUD THROBBING FAN, so you can either be in the pitch dark, or listening to it roar around you -staff seem stressed and no wonder After all the wonderful places I stayed for much less, this was a huge disappointment. Stay somewhere else!

This was a great stay. Everything was perfect. I had to have emergency eye surgery in Auckland. I wish I recovered at a place like this compared to the place I had to stay for a week.

Never even a hello from reception staff throughout our whole stay. Room was very basic. Shower pressure was a dribble and thats being kind. Worst ive had. No toiletries, no crockery or cutlery at all, even a bowl for snacks wouldve been something, bar not open till 4, couldnt even get a juice and was stinking hot outside. Wouldnt stay again. Cleaning needs improvement, filthy lightswitches and surfaces. Pool was cloudy did not look clean either.

room was great, nice polished and clean stainless handrails. hotel and bar staff friendly & helpful. disappointed at how many plates were dirty in the clean area, post dishwasher food pieces, and alot of plates still wet. we were the first to arrive for breakfast and i was also disappointed to find hard boiled eggs instead of runny poached eggs. everything else was pretty good but i can see marbles has changed alot over the last year or so, the waiters and kitchen staff has changed. the quality of the food has gone downhill. somebody should be appointed to quality control to keep the previous standards up cheers phil
