The only downfall was the sand dredging and the machinery noise and some beach access limitations. It was a pretty neat learning experience....but again, the property was amazing.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: WONDERFUL!!!! We have been staying in the Surfmaster or One Ocean Place building for years and this was the best yet. This condo is AMAZING!! Everything was exactly as described and the pictures actually do not do justice for how incredible this unit is. The beds are wonderful, the air conditioning actually kept the temp steady, the stove is in good working condition, the frig works great!, living room furniture-so comfy and the balcony and furniture on it were absolutely wonderful--so many times the balcony furniture is well...just cheesy but not here!!! The room was clean when we arrived and they cleaned the hot tub 2 or 3 times during the week we were there. CANNOT say enough positive things about this penthouse!!!! Will definitely stay in this unit again.

It was wonderful! All the friendliness, comforts,cleanliness, and stunning views we always experience, plus a larger balcony with a hot tub! We could not have asked for anything more! We got to have family time! We played hard, ate very well,relaxed, and enjoyed each other's company. We feel at home at Surfmaster!

Loved this place for many years

Reviewer Comments: I used to stay in this condo every year, even before the current owners took over and I have never been more disappointed. This trip was to visit after my son’s 9 month deployment (he left when his baby was 1 week old) and to have my fiancé tryout a hot tub for his arthritis before spending money on one. Oh and to share with my family who is local I just got engaged. When inquiring about the water being off, maintenance called back he told me the hot tub was not working! WHAT? That was half the reason for booking THIS condo. Fast forward to dinner and we went to take the chicken out of the oven to find no oven mitts. Tried to give the baby a bath and the plug in the tub was broken off and it is a challenge when the one glass door where you turn the water on doesn’t open. Master toilet doesn’t fill all the time, had to use a pocket knife to cut up chicken as knives were so dull, and more....When I contacted the office about all my dissatisfaction I was offered a small credit. At this point I feel we need to say goodbye to this wonderful condo we have loved for many many years.

We have stayed in this unit many years, before the remodel and after all the beautiful work was done, and I must say renting sure takes it's toll on things in just a few years, people should treat it better that's for sure it's a really nice unit. Called maintenance never came. Light under stove didn’t work. I’ve maker made 10 pieces of ice a day Internet service terrible. Had to reconnect and reset constantly throughout day and night. Therefore no TV service. Lots of small bugs inside especially in Master bedroom n bathroom. Lots of large bugs outside on patio near hot tub. Sand everywhere when we checked in. Shower head didn’t work in bedroom on right. Never stay again. Thanks

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay at the Surfmaster, with exception to the results of the storm that had come just prior to our stay. This could not have been prevented. The condo we rented was great and we enjoyed our time there. The unit was very clean and ready for us to occupy when we arrived. Our only regret was the elevators not working. My wife and I are retired and in our 70s Ten levels of stairs were very demanding. We have been coming to Myrtle Beach area every year for nearly 50 years and have stayed at the Surfmaster a number of times in the past.

You also need to provide a vacuum that cleans hard surfaces. A cheap broom does not get the sand up.

The only suggestion I would add is that there needs to be more rugs in front of the balcony access doors. If the floor gets wet there, it could cause people to slip and fall. Otherwise, it was a great stay and we WILL BE BACK next year!

summer of 2022 2 weeks in Penthouse I

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is well kept, we make an effort every year to rent this unit. The weather was great for both weeks we were there, some of our Sons and Daughters and families also had units in Surfmaster during our stay. Only problem we had was getting into the unit when we arrived, we heard the well played record of understaffed etc, frankly that is only an easy excuse for almost anything anymore, real reason might be the tenant before us did not get out in time, I would suggest rather than pocket a fee or fine you would give a credit to the folks being held up because you are unable to get them in on time, we have stayed with Garden City Reality for over 30 years and almost always were in units well before 4pm, this was the only problem we had this season, the staff that cleaned the unit prior to us getting in were hard working wonderful people, hopefully you can fix the problem, or it just maybe you feel the customer will keep right on renting no matter what the what happens, that would not be good judgement on your part, again only problem we had, but not one I want to experience again, thanks

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time at Penthouse I!!! Loved having the extra outside space! Everything seemed clean and in order when we came in. But the floor needed mopped very badly. Our socks and slippers were so dirty. That is the only complaint I really have. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pans. Plenty of towels, etc. We would definitely come back to the room. It was our first time in the Penthouse area and we really enjoyed it. We will be back for a prior booked vacation in September. Otherwise we might have considered booking a penthouse again!! Maybe next girls trip!! Love Surfmaster area and amenities!

Reviewer Comments: Surfmaster penthouse I was magnificent!! My guests and I were in awe of the property. Will definitely be renting this penthouse again. It had everything we needed from cooking to wine drinking!! I could have used a step stool to get on either of the kings, but the doubles were fine. Appliances.. toaster oven, fabulous fridge and that quiet dishwasher!! If there had been a teak bench in the master shower.. I’d have thought I was in a sauna!! Can’t wait to return. We ate at the penthouse every day so no reviews for the restaurants.. with those views.. Sunsets....dolphin pods... why go anywhere!!
