Nice Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed in several units at Surf Master over the past several years and you can't beat the location or the views. This condo was as described. We had an electrical issue but it was quickly addressed. The bedroom had lots of dust bunnies behind the bed and dressers and the kitchen could have used a measuring cup but we improvised so, it wasn't really a big deal. Overall another great vacation in Garden City!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Been coming to SM for over 30 years with family. We rent 5-8 units each year. Great location. This rental unit needs a major overhaul, especially the bathrooms and kitchen. The half bath has never been updated and the master is overdue for round two. There are much nicer units available.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice condo in a nice area. The bed rail was not fastened to the headboard causing the mattress to tip. Maintenance was contacted but the “fix” didn’t work. We used a couple of kitchen pots to hold it up for the remainder of our stay.

DON'T RENT THIS UNIT-here's why.

Reviewer Comments: Don't rent this unit--mildew smell in kitchen cabinets, kitchen faucet broke, ice maker broke, nice but uncomfortable couches, clock needed battery (fixed), mattress too soft, only 3 hangers, uncomfortable very low toilets.Shower part broke. Maintenance man fixed a few other minor things right away. No problem with management company. Unit needs refresh, especially kitchen (very cluttered.) Great location.

Our summer stay at Surfmaster

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our unit seemed very nice at first but after staying a few nights, we noticed a lot of things that could be improved. First off a lot of areas were really dirty such as under the kitchen sink, in the stove drawer, the silverware drawer, under the couches and the rugs! We also found an article of clothing behind the wicker chest in the main bedroom! (We left it there!) Also there is constant water running in the closet in the hallway, from the hot water tank, air conditioner or some appliance. This could be a really nice unit if it was cleaned up and some areas were updated! The view is beautiful but unfortunately we couldn’t be on the balcony too often because of other people smoking on their balconies!! If they would change the smoking policy at the whole building, maybe more renters could enjoy the view from their balconies! There are lots of good restaurants close by and a lot of fun things to do after being on the beach! We also liked our unit having a door code, no more fumbling for your key!

We were always happy with Garden City Reality and with Surfmaster. Besides the location the general maintenance and grounds keeping is top knotch. Also, 1106 is one of our favorite 1 bedrooms units. We have rented it several times and will do so again.

2021 Beach Week

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a wonderful week we had in 1106. The room is great. Bed is comfortable. Living room is comfortable as well. Kitchen is adequately stocked with everything you need to whip up a meal (food not included). The staff was very nice (with the exception of 1 female employee). Check-in this time was not a good experience due to short staffing of housekeeping staff. Drew was very gracious in explaining to us why we had to wait soooo long to check in. The staff had not even begun to clean our unit until hours after we arrived. However they got right on it after our phone calls and after that everything went well for us. The previous guest had accidentally knocked a hole in the bedroom wall. We were promised that this would be repaired during our stay but unfortunately for the next guest, it had not been repaired upon our check out. Even with these events, our stay was wonderful. We enjoyed it greatly. We have stayed in this unit many times and will stay here again.

A Wonderful Get-Away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in 1106 many times. Glad to see the owners have made updates. Loved the reclining sofa. Kitchen is nicely updated with granite and stainless steel appliances. Bed was comfortable. Balcony is very nice. Loved the new rocking chairs on the balcony. Did not use the murphy bed, but it looks like it would be nice. I felt like the unit was not quite as clean as it should have been. The floor was what I noticed most. I was glad I brought my own cleaning products from my home to do some additional cleaning. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I would stay in 1106 again.

2 Weeks at Surfmaster

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very good. Been coming to Surfmaster for 6 years in 3 different 1 bedroom units. We liked all 3 but changed to see if we like another unit or floor better. Surfmaster management and grounds upkeep is terrific. Any problems we had were resolved quickly. Each had pluses and minuses. Unit 1106 had comfortable bed and living room furniture and we really appreciated extra cabinet storage in the bathroom.

Small but fit the bill

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We very much enjoy staying in Garden City, and especially at Surfmaster. We added a third week, after spending two weeks at one of the penthouses. This property was available and we enjoyed our stay. The new furniture is beautiful and comfortable, with a large big screen TV and plenty of DVDs for rainy days. The view is gorgeous, and we enjoyed the deck rockers. The problem is the size of the bathroom and the kitchen. Even with just two of us, we could not be in those rooms together. The kitchen is partially renovated, the cupboards are old and poorly maintained; they were dirty. The bathroom is dark, there was no room for toiletries, and there was mold on the shower curtain. Overall, this place fit the bill, but dont know if we would stay at it again.
