Star Haven - Great Ocean View at an affordable rate!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enojoyed our stay at Star Haven for Spring Break. It was nice and clean, the kitchen was fully equipped, we had a little extra room for parking, and the ocean view was great to have. We really enjoyed having easy beach access off of Angler Drive. Highly recommend this unit!

Front porch sitting and the short walk to the beach were exactly what we needed. Loved being able to park two cars under the house, with plenty of extra room for our beach gear. The house is nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice house great location

The location is perfect for relaxing in front porch and enjoying the scenery.

About a 1 min walk to the closest public beach access. The ocean view from the front porch was awesome. We walked to the pier a couple of nights, not a bad walk at all. The house is very comfortable, furniture and beds were more than sufficient. The staff at garden city realty was awesome. We will definitely use again.

You Get What You Pay For

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I titled this "You Get What You Pay For" because this was a very economical price for a 3-bedroom house during a prime week in July. But the house is lacking in many ways. But I will first start with the positives - the location is outstanding. You have a partial view of the ocean, and it is super close to the public beach access. And you can easily walk the pier. And the kitchen is nice (small, but nice) and has been renovated and updated. It is also well-equipped.Now to the negatives. Most of the furnishings were old and beat-up. Coffee table was broken, wicker armoire and wicker chair were broken and tattered, lamps and lighting fixtures were rusted, broken or cracked, dining room table was old and chairs were wobbly. Couch and love seat were old and torn. And the decorations were random and outdated. There were 2 TV's - one in the living room and 1 in the master bedroom. Both TV's were tiny. The other 2 bedrooms did not contain a TV. Overall, the house was pretty clean, other than the ceiling fans that were caked with dust. Other than the kitchen, this house hasn't been updated in quite some time. I assume that the owner has the philosophy of why put money into the house when it still rents consistently. But I would think that there are no return renters. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this to friends or family.I am giving this an overall rating of 3 because of the location.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is in a great location with easy access to the beach. Appliances are updated and worked well. Unfortunately the house was not so clean. It needed more utensils to be able to cook properly . The broom and the vacuum didn’t works so well so we were not able to clean the sand up that was brought in. Several things are broken. There is no grill, chairs or table to sit downstairs. The house rental was very expensive for the product you rent. We did have a small issue and contacted Garden city reality and they were great to talk to and responded quickly to the issue and corrected it. Unfortunately the unit was not what we expected from Garden City Reality.

Relaxing Time with a view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really liked the area and being able to see the ocean. It was also located close to a beach access. The house itself was a good size for our small family of four. There was more dirt on the floors than expected including lots of hair and dust bunnies everywhere. That was a little gross and not fun dealing with. Also there was no grip pad in the showers which made it dangerous to slipping. If you have a big back end, like I do, the toilets were a little small. Having the shower outside and an extra hose made it super awesome to clean the dirt off our feet after being at the beach. And the porch was a relaxing place to read a book and people watch.

First time GCB vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had never visited Garden City Beach before so we no idea where this property was located in reference to the beach, pier, activities, etc. The location of this property is directly across from the beach with a “peek” of thenocean from the front porch. Very large condo complex directly across the street blocks a larger view. It’s on the main road, there is a lot of traffic, it is very noisy. Cars and golf carts “cruise” this stretch for hours at nighttime. There is no nightlife in GCB, so this seems to be the thing to do. Trash truck comes extremely early three days per week and landscapers mowed 2 mornings, also very early. Sleeping in is not an option here if you’re disturbed by noise. We had several bad storms which revealed a flooding problem below the house, and inside the house. Water POURED through two side windows, down the wall and puddled on the floor in both of the smaller bedrooms. Keep your personal items away from the windows. Realty company, when called, brought us extra towels for us to clean it up. Saying there wasn’t much else to do about it. Also the ceiling vents drip condensation when the a/c is on. Again, watch your personal items as they are directly over the beds and dining table. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, linens nice quality. The kitchen was the most well-appointed of any vacation property we’ve ever stayed at in 25 years. Overall the house is tidy, but not clean. The house could use a floor to ceiling deep clean. The floors hide dirt well. We are a “shoe off at the door” family normally, our feet were literally black from walking around this home barefoot. So gross. While there were ant traps in the kitchen, ants were all over. Also gross.I really appreciated having a new, efficient washer and dryer available. They operate very quietly. The close proximity to the beach was nice for coming and going. Nice v

After a last minute switch to this house thanks to a hurricane that damaged our original rental I am pleased to say we enjoyed our stay very much. The rental company was awesome and got us into this house 3 days before we were to check in. We rent from garden city reality every year and will continue this tradition. Location it great and we loved sitting on the front porch at night. Only thing we thought could be better is the one bathroom had no place to put toilet paper and neither had a place to hold bathroom towels. We also had to purchase our own toaster because it didn’t have one. Other then that our trip was great and even our dog had a great time!
