Mountain retreat close to town
I feel like we found a piece of paradise with Pinecone Crest! We went over the New Year holiday with the hope of doing some hiking, seeing some sights, and exploring downtown Blue Ridge. I don’t think we could have found a more perfect location to do all of those things and more. We were only 15 minutes to downtown, there are several beautiful trails within a 10 minute drive, Mercier Orchard is about 10 minutes away, and the beautiful mountain views are endless! But the real star of the show is the cabin itself! Located in a secluded gated community, it is literally picture perfect! From the outdoor firepit with seating where we roasted s’mores, to the beautifully maintained and spotless cabin with the most comfortable couch in existence, to the luxurious back porch with a dining table, seating area with a fire place, AND a hot tub… we couldn’t ask for more. We ended up spending a lot more time at the cabin than we’d planned simply because it was so inviting and relaxing. Just what we needed! We stayed up far too late playing so many new-to-us board games that the cabin in stocked with - which the kids (and us!) thoroughly enjoyed. There was literally nothing we needed in the cabin besides some groceries - it is more than well stocked! All in all it was a fantastic location with great hosts that I would recommend to anyone again and again!
