100% disappointed! I booked this property with high hopes, especially after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. I was only in the property for about 20 minutes before an emergency required us to leave immediately. I contacted the host right away but received no response. I then reached out to VRBO, who informed me that the host could issue a refund. After that, the host stopped communicating with me entirely, responding only once to tell me to speak with VRBO—offering no help and no willingness to discuss the situation. The listing also provides no clear cancellation policy anywhere, which only added to the frustration. On top of this, the environment did not feel safe. Several aspects of the property and the surrounding area made me uncomfortable, including multiple boarded-up businesses and homes next door and across the street. This was not reflected in the listing. I tried to be more than reasonable. I offered to pay the cleaning fee and even one night’s stay, despite only being there briefly, but the host refused to provide any reimbursement. Their communication completely changed the moment I needed assistance—they became unresponsive, dismissive, and offered no meaningful help. Given how little time I spent there, my willingness to cover costs, and the lack of transparency or cooperation from the host, this was extremely disappointing. The experience made the earlier positive reviews and assurances feel completely misleading.
