Arrived late afternoon 22 Dec and already the sewer smell was noticeable. We thought it might just need to have some water run through the pipes so over the next few days used the dishwasher, washing machine and flushed all the drains first which helped slightly for a few hours but the stench kept returning. Next days were public holidays so continued to put up with it. On 27 Dec I reported the concerns via the managing agency ‘Made Comfy’ website and rang phone number which was answered by someone likely from an offshore service centre who said he’d note the concerns and someone would get back to me. No response ever received. We had to leave windows open and the air conditioner off despite being very hot some days because the stench was unbearable.
We also had an ant infestation, there was mould in the bathroom, they didn’t provide enough dishwasher powder, garbage bags, toilet paper for the duration of the stay, there was no sponge or similar to wipe down kitchen surfaces, a number of the saucepans / frying pans didn’t work with the induction cooker, and there was a range of stuff in cupboards just messily left there.
The ant infestation was horrendous and I realized on the last day that the owners must have been aware of the problem as there was a container of Ant-rid up in one of the kitchen high cupboards but not actively been used.
No one should have to pay $490 per day for such conditions. Photos available to support experience reported above.
