Our stay at VS exceeded our expectations!! The owners was very pleasant, attentive from the moment we booked up until we left! The onsight house managers went up and beyond to help us out and show us around, if you want awesome day out on the boat - Robert her husband took us out for an incredible snorkeling day! VInna’s Fish Tacos and Mango Salsa is a must try! Having a mealready for us on arrive was perfect!!Having fresh fruit brought to us was a delicious treat! It was fun to pick our own pineapple on the property!! and it was delicious! If you’re thinking about renting this, don’t walk run!! We loved the fact that we had two restaurants that were awesome and walking distance, and yes, I was mush after my two hour Massage (on the beach) at Coconut Grove! Would we come back ….. in a heartbeat!!

Our group of 4 stayed for a week and didn't want to leave. You can kayak, paddle board, fish, snorkel, adventure around the island or just sit nearly comatose in the house while taking in the great view of the Pacific Ocean. Robert and Vinna made us feel like family and Tony was readily available. This was one of the best vacation stays I've ever had. Vinaka !

What a Majic stay in Matei

Vale Sakoula is all that the reviews and U-tube videos show. Great location on the water with a nice dock where Robert met us for snorkeling excursions each day. Four nights of bliss in Tavenui!! I see why it stays booked. Robert and Vinna are caring and terrific people. As are Tony & Katie!! Our best stay ever in 30 years.

Paradise

Vale Sekoula was the perfect peaceful getaway. Robert met us at the airport drove us to the home which is right across the street and Vienna greated us with coconut drinks. The best snorkeling right from your front door. Honeymoon island was beautiful. Robert took us out and dropped us off at our request to Honeymoon island so we could relax and snorkel. Robert also took us to Rainbow Reef. Wow, dont miss the opportunity to go. It was amazing. All around the home was spotless, Robert and Vienna were super helpful, and amazing location. It was definitely the highlight of our trip!

Our own little slice of heaven for a few days!

From the moment we booked, communication with Tony was stellar. In the weeks before our arrival, he helped us plan our time in Taveuni with wonderful recommendations on what to do and where to eat. Upon arrival the caretaker, Vinna, showed up smiling and assisting us with our luggage. The house was decorated beautifully with flowers and fresh coconut drinks awaited us. The view in person was so much better than the photos online, which I didn't think was possible! Our outings with our driver, Tyren (sp?), were such a blast, and he was so gracious and helpful! Our family of four had the best time kayaking to Honeymoon Island and snorkeling. Our trip was filled with some amazing excursions, but this was all our our favorite, which says a lot!! We had an incredible lovo with meke and tried kava at the Dive Restaurant at Tony's encouragement. It was SO special!! One night Vinna cooked a delicious dinner for us, complete with banana bread and delivered by her sweet sons. When it was time to check-out and head home, Vinna showed up with flowers to put around our necks. I asked if I could have a hug and she lit up and threw her arms out wide. We were only there for three nights, but our hearts may be there forever. Thank you, so, so much for helping us create incredible memories for our family and celebrate mine and my husband's 25th wedding anniversary. I tear up thinking about how special our time at Vale Sekoula was. Upo

What an amazing hidden gem. The location and the property is wonderful. Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise with us. All communication was quick and helpful. Robert and Vinna were excellent property managers and offered assistance when we needed. The island itself is beautiful (so many butterflies and birds!). Top food recommendation is Kai Time - their food is delicious.

Paradise in Taveuni

Vale Sekoula is beautifully managed with stunning gardens, spectacular views and everything you will need to enjoy this piece of paradise. The owners were great to work with, promptly answering any questions we had. Vinna and Robert, the caretakers, were so kind and welcoming and made sure our stay was perfect. Robert was able to take us to see some amazing local places and shared lots of information about the Fijian islands and culture. A highlight was the day he took us out snorkelling at the rainbow reef. After we returned we had an amazing dinner at the house made by Vinna. Do try her fish tacos! The pool, kayaks and standup paddle boards were great to have. The kitchen was well equipped making it easy to cook most of our own meals. The two small stores down the road have most things. We did have Robert take us into Somosomo to pickup some extra produce from the local market stands. There are a few restaurants within walking distance that were all great. Be sure to go to Coconut Grove for a delicious fish curry. There is no question that if we ever visit Fiji again we will definitely be coming back to Vale Sekoula. We had an amazing time and loved our stay. Vanaka Tony, Katie, Vinna and Robert!

Perfect Vacation

Bula! Our group of 4 stayed at Vale Sekula for 10 amazing nights. Everything was exactly as we expected. We walked from the Airport to the house where Robert met us and showed us around the house. We spent most of the time at the house, in the pool enjoying the view. We used the provided kayaks to paddle out to the 3rd island (Honeymoon Island) and snorkeled (amazing snorkeling!). We also got a taxi (Joe, who was awesome) to take us to the natural rock water slides, Lavena Coastal Walk and Bouma Waterfalls. The kitchen is well stocked and we actually cooked several dinners ourselves. I could go on and on about how amazing the house, property and locals are but I suggest everyone just go an experience it for themselves. Vanaka Tony and Katie for having us at Vale Sekula!

Truly Amazing!!

Cannot describe how incredible the whole property really is!! From the owners communication to the help on the ground from Robert and the whole community. Amazing snorkelling, kayaking, SUP, stunning sun rises. The house is beautiful and the grounds are luscious. Top Recommendation

5-stars isn’t enough

This place is a dream. We gave this property five stars across the board but it deserved six at least (out of five). The location? Stunning. The layout? Open and breezy. The view? Spectacular. The local people? Warm, kind, and gracious. The diving was fantastic, Rainbow Reef is one of the best in the world, and Salt Dive is amazing (see my google review). We’re already planning our next trip back.

Idyllic Holiday Spot

We enjoyed a marvelous visit to Taveuni. Our stay at Vale Sekoula was everything we could have hoped for - great location, top-notch amenities and a superb level of service. The communication and support from the property owners was the best I've ever had in a rental, and the local support team was super helpful and welcoming. Taveuni is beautiful, and we did some remarkable scuba diving and snorkeling. I would love to return!

Amazing house and amazing caretakers

Simply wonderful home in a great location, the views are beautiful! The caretakers, Vinna and Robert, were great and helped us in so many ways and can even cook dinners for you and deliver them to the house, which was great as there were not many restaurants open in the off season when we were there. Vinna was so caring and comassionate when one of our party became ill she accompanied her to the hospital and back to the villa. I also had mistakenly left a carry-on item at the Nadi airport and Vinna sent her cousin to retrieve it and arrange it to come to the island on the flight the next day. The villa also has kyacks available to use which was a great day trip out to some close by islands. We took advantage of them and packed a lunch and our snorkeling gear and headed out. The snorkeling around island 3 & 4 was fantastic and island three has a small beach and we had it all to ourselves.

2023 Return to Vale Sekoula

Here's the deal: Very friendly home, neatly kept, phenomenal location, great views, fantastic new deck over the water, appropriately priced, well-equipped, etc., etc. This was our 2nd stay at Vale Sekoula and we booked our 3rd for next year before we left LAX for this visit. I highly recommend this property. If it were mine to manage, I would not change anything...other than plan to visit more frequently than we do. Respectfully, Lisa and Adam

Already planning to come back

We loved our stay in so many ways, it's hard to know where to start! Vale Sekoula is a spacious, very liveable house in a quiet location with a beautiful garden, lovely pool and amazing sea views - it would have been easy to spend our whole time there. The kitchen is well equipped and local stores, although small, have plenty of supplies for self-catering if that's what you want to do. The location also answered to our version of Tourism to a T - it's a very relaxed neighbourhood that is easy to wander about, meeting more locals than tourists, and you can opt in or out of tourist activities as much as you like. Vinaka vakalevu especially to Vinna and Robert for the warm welcome and being so helpful and kind during our stay. We are already discussing when we can come back!

Our stay at Vale Sekoula was everything we hoped for. From the beginning being greeted by Robert the house manager and guided around the property we immediately slipped into holiday mode and relished the amazing views, the garden, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling and fabulous local hospitality. Visiting Taveuni is the authentic Fiji. We couldn't have wished for a more relaxing holiday. A 10 minute walk along the road planted with amazing tropical plants.....to local restaurants and dive operators was a walk in the park. We highly recommend Vale Seloula and will return in the near future. A huge thanks to Tony, Katie and family, Robert and Vinnie :-)

I could go on and on about how much we loved this place!! Tony and Katie have a slice of heaven on earth! They think of everything you would need and more. Then you have their caretakers; Robert and Vinna who give you space but are there when you need them too. Don't even second guess booking this place, just do it!

Vale soukala was a wonderful place to spend a week. The owner Tony was very communicative setting up our vacation. Robert and Vinna, the caretakers were very wonderful people providing transportation to surrounding highlights and markets. Taveuni is very rural and quiet. The house is top notch and very well appointed w traditional fijian artworks. Good restaurants closeby offering traditional and other food options. The hikes to falls and the ocean hike was spectacular. The snorkeling at rainbow reef was unvelievable and worth every penny. Warning: you will forever be spoiled bybthe snorkeling, diving, and friendly fijian culture. It is a slow and third world in many ways but first world in others. We will be back. Lived this place.

A dream stay in Taveuni

Bula! There is so much to love about Taveuni and this property. The house is in the perfect location for seeing both sides of the island and walking distance to small grocery stores and restaurants. We loved the pool and oceanfront deck and used the kayaks every day. Vinna and Robert were so kind and set us up with our guide Germain who was fantastic and showed us so much cool stuff on the island. He hung out with us for Kava night at Dive cafe and we had so much fun laughing with him every day. Loved the Lavena Coastal walk so much and we had the waterfall at the end all to ourselves. The snorkeling at the island off the coast from the property is incredible, so much coral and fish and my husband was able to catch fish off the kayak. Dont miss the little orange ice cream stand down the street from the house, it has the best home made sorbet type ice creams and you can also buy fresh kava and spices there too. Tony was so helpful before our visit, answering questions and giving fishing tips. The house has nearly all the cooking items one would need (we made breakfast there every day) and has a small supply of coffee & spices. We drank the tap water all week and had no issues whatsoever though bottled water is available. Just trying to cut down on unnecessary plastic since there isn't much recycling on such a small island. Overall, we had an incredible time. I can't wait to come back and bring some friends along to paradise. Vinaka!
