Looking for the cozy rustic mountain cabin experience, tucked away in the heart of the woods? Look no further than Roughin’ it! This small two-bedroom, one-bath cabin sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a peaceful escape with friends, this is a true mountain retreat where you can unplug, unwind, and reconnect with nature. Just remember, this is a rustic cabin in the woods, and it comes with all the character and adventure that entails!
Surrounded by nature, Roughin’ it sits on over two acres of untouched mountain terrain, with no other cabins in sight. Enjoy your own small pond and trickling creek right on the property, offering a peaceful setting that is hard to find.
Spend your days exploring nearby hiking trails, streams, and waterfalls, then return home to gather around the fire pit under a sky full of stars. Relax on the covered porch swing with your morning coffee or evening beverage, lose yourself in a good book, or simply enjoy the quiet sounds of the mountains.
The sunken hot tub offers a special place to unwind, with beautiful mountain views in the spring and fall. Keep your eyes open for local wildlife, too! Elk are frequently spotted wandering up the driveway and throughout the surrounding area.
Roughin’ it is the perfect place to escape the stress of everyday life. We recommend stopping at the grocery store before heading up the mountain and bringing everything you need for your stay. Once you arrive, you may never want to leave! The full kitchen opens into a comfortable living area featuring an oversized couch and a 55-inch LED television with DIRECTV. A gas Buck stove provides heat during cooler mountain evenings. Please note that this cabin does not have air conditioning, but at 4,700 feet, you'll enjoy the refreshing mountain air.
Outside, fire up the gas grill beside the fire pit. It's the perfect setting for grilling dinner, watching the afternoon sun disappear through the trees, and reminiscing about the day's adventures.
The cabin features two queen bedrooms on the main level, along with a full bathroom. Upstairs, a charming loft provides two additional twin beds, making it a favorite sleeping spot for kids. Each bedroom features a unique, handmade queen bed. You'll also appreciate the beautiful tin ceilings, wide-plank flooring, and hand-carved staircase leading to the loft. Every detail adds to the warm, authentic character of this special mountain home.
