Service was good as was the cleanliness but that's all. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed ever rock hard the sheets felt like they were made of plastic and the towels were rough. In our room all we could hear was the pipes so unbelievably loud all night long zero sleep. The next night we returned after a wedding and the whole floor stunk of cannabis including our room so we left that was really the final straw

Room was very nice. Arrival was a littl fraught with stress and Expehad cancelled the room according to the hotel, so we had to sort that about 4 hrs after parking onsite. All sorted in the end, but be careful, hotel and Expedia dont appear to be able to communicate directly..

Had to move room initially as mould on the net curtain and all over the window and the lights were flickering constantly. The guy that first night seemed really stressed but was helpful and sorted a new room. But Second room, broken window it remained open and wouldn’t close and I was freezing! By the time it came to middle of the night. The bathroom had urine stain tiles around the base and the towel on the bed had stains. I didn’t bother moving room again as I was there for business x 2 nights and had no time as it was late when I realised the window wouldn’t close when I had moved room and went to go to bed. The second night there was no staff available to ask about the window. I was exhausted from work so just put up with the open window. When I went to check out the woman in the desk was very rude. I handed her my key she huffed and said uh fine I will take care of it’ I said I’m handing it to you because I want to let you know about room window. She huffed and said “fine I will sort it “ and that was it! Never going back again I will be staying elsewhere on the next business trip in this location!

Our stay was good. The room was reasonably clean and well presented. We had dinner in the restaurant. Food was ok. The Fish and chips lacked seasoning and the sticky toffee pudding was cold and dense, was expecting it to be warm and much lighter with less sauce which made it sickly sweet

I’ve stayed here 2-3 times for year for the last 4-5 years and have always had a good stay. However it was disappointing this time to find the pool closed for maintenance, and the bar area not serving food, meaning the only option was the more formal dining area which was fully booked. Appreciate there are events but that shouldn’t be at the expense of other paying guests. The updated areas are great, but it does highlight that the rooms and corridors to the rooms need some tic. There were poorly fixed walls in my room and the bathroom had spent drainage issues causing a bad smell.

This was unfortunately not one of my better stays here. The pool was closed for maintenance, the bar area wasn’t serving food, and the restaurant was fully booked. Leaving no options available. Additionally, the bathroom in my room smelt like sewage every time the toilet was fousued

Pros:- Lovely hotel, beautiful refurbished bar and restaurant area, great staff. Lovely gym. Cons:- Gym- no stretch mats, Pool /Jacuzzi- water too cool. Bedroom too warm overnight, the window was open but there is no room temperature control. Bar food/drink was generally very good. However, the vegan flatbread was disappointing in size/value, dry and the sauce arrived after the meal was finished. The draught lemonade ran out and it took 3 returned drinks to resolve this - I appreciate the hotel and bar was very busy that night. Which probably explains these things. I really like this hotel generally, if the room temps could be controlled better it would make a real difference.
