An authentic rural home that can accommodate up to 10 people. Three separate houses with direct access to a courtyard featuring a private pool (the accommodations are not shared with other guests). This layout promotes both privacy and togetherness. That’s why it’s ideal for two or three couples, with or without children. This century-old building is ideally located for exploring Andalusia, including Granada, Málaga, and Córdoba. The perfect blend of nature and culture.
The accommodations are rustic and eco-friendly. It will appeal to those seeking the rural charm of an authentic Andalusian farmhouse. However, the amenities are simple and the surroundings are rugged. This rural home is better suited for nature lovers than for those seeking a high level of comfort and sophisticated amenities. That said, it has undeniable charm!
There are three separate, adjoining houses, all located within the private property. The layout is ideal for two or three families, for example, or three or four couples without children, or simply a family with children seeking space, tranquility, and privacy.
Each of the three rural homes retains the authentic character of a traditional Andalusian country house. Each has a first floor and an upper floor. The bedrooms and bathroom are located on the upper floor. The staircase is charming, but unfortunately it is not suitable for older adults or those with limited mobility.
To preserve the rustic charm of the farmhouse, a simple decor was chosen. The walls are white with a textured finish. The wooden doors are sturdy and dark brown. The overall design is minimalist. Each cabin features a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, a living room with a fireplace, and two bedrooms.
Detailed layout of the bedrooms:
- Cabin 1: 1 double bed + 2 single beds
- Cabin 2: 1 double bed + 2 single beds
- Cabin 3: 1 double bed + 1 single bed
The building, typical of Andalusia, is designed primarily for the warmer months, so the outdoor spaces are spacious, while the interiors are somewhat more compact. The living room, in particular, is small in each cabin. There are a few armchairs, but it’s worth noting that there isn’t a large indoor living room that can accommodate 10 people (maximum 6). Yes, in Andalusia, we spend most of our time outdoors :-)
Outside, you’ll find five small wooden tables, along with 10 chairs and 8 lounge chairs. You can set up one large table or several smaller ones.
A palm-leaf pergola provides shade. There are also two or three basic, removable individual umbrellas. There is a barbecue on the patio. The patio is spacious and consists of a paved area and a tiled area (around the pool).
Each kitchen is equipped with a modern induction cooktop and a refrigerator. Two of the cabins have a kitchenette (with all the essentials, but limited cooking space). The third, newer cabin has a much more spacious kitchen, with a large refrigerator, a conventional oven, and a comfortable area for preparing meals. This is ideal for preparing meals for a group.
Tableware (glasses, cups, plates, pots, etc.) is provided. Amenities are limited to the essentials, in keeping with our values: coffee maker, citrus juicer, blender, corkscrew, microwave, toaster, etc. Each cabin has its own set of tableware and coffee maker, ensuring privacy for families or couples.
Each cabin has its own bathroom with a shower. The bathroom is small, and the fixtures are clean but basic, except in the third cabin, which has a more spacious bathroom adjacent to a bedroom with a balcony.
La Era is a place to unplug and does not have televisions. The cellular network (data) is generally reliable, providing satisfactory internet access for most of our guests. However, if you need a high-speed connection—whether for work or other reasons—we can recommend telecom stores in Loja, the nearest city, that will offer solutions tailored to your needs.
Sheets and towels are provided. We change them once a week. There is no washing machine in your vacation rental, but a laundry service is available as an option (8 euros per load). You’ll have access to a clothesline and clotheslines with clothespins. If you wish, we can provide an ironing board and an iron.
On the first day of your stay, you must pay a security deposit of 300 euros in person. This will be refunded in full on the day of departure, provided no damage is found. In the event of damage to the building, furniture, or provided accessories, the security deposit will be used to cover repair costs in proportion to the estimated extent of the damage.
Regarding energy and heating, we encourage eco-friendly practices: the walls of the houses are thick and maintain a pleasant temperature in the summer and a warm one in the fall and winter, so many guests choose not to use the heating (except in the middle of winter). We provide extra blankets if you need them. However, we understand that groups and families may prefer greater comfort. For this reason, we offer several heating options.
Heating options available upon request:
- Electric radiator = 10 €/day
- Wheelbarrow of olive wood for the fireplace = 10 €
- Portable gas heater (with refillable tank, a very common system in Spain) = 20 € per tank
- Set of several electric radiators to be distributed throughout the apartments = actual consumption billed based on the meter reading at a rate of 0.30 € per kWh.
NOTE: These rates are subject to change in the event of sudden and significant fluctuations in energy prices.
