Hotel was clean and tidy and staff friendly, The bed and pillow were uncomfortable and showing signs of age. Despite being a guest at the hotel we were declined an evening meal because the dining room was fully booked so had to find alternative restaurant

This must have been a truly magnificent building when it was new, now it's a bit tired, there are plastic conduits stuck onto the old walls with high ceilings that take the power to the crystal chandeliers. The green carpet does not go with the turquoise ceiling and battle ship grey paint on the wood chip wallpaper, but it all shows the history of the building and I find the result charming, it has character.

Room was disgusting, told staff it was and they said they will have a look. Came back and was still the exact same requested a room change they said no. Requested a refund and we ended up getting told non refundable so was £144 out of pocket and had to fork out more money to get a different hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE

We had a lovely nights stay here. The staff were great, the room was basic but exactly what we needed. Its a shame the chain that owns this hotel is allowing it to become run down and dated. Regardless, we would stay here again.

We were there for 2days. No one bothered us and it was nice & quiet. Staff were friendly. However although inside the rooms were clean, the windows were very dirty. The rest of the hotel was very stuffy with no proper insulation and ventilation. It had very dusty smells which almost triggered my asthma whenever we left our room. The balcony was very dirty as well with broken metal rods and bird soils all around. We felt a bit unsafe to stand the balcony and this needs maintenance and cleaning. Other than everything else went smooth and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a very nice spot that is very accessible to most things we needed.

In room 408, the windows do not close, there is no shower gel, the water supply in the toilet is poor, and the room is designed for one person, not two. Looks like a WWII bombsite outside due to historic fire damage.Very shabby, tired, delapidated decoration externally. Top floor (5) not accessable by lift as out of order and requiring hand luggage to be carried by myself, from floor 4 to floor 5, I was not even offered assistance at all. The bannister hand rail from floors 4 to 5 was very dirty and sticky, our request to have it cleaned was carried out very quickly by the house staff in their defence. The corridors to our room, like the external, tired and shabby, rainwater stains, marks on the walls and ceilings, water penetration evident! The room was pleasant enough, clean and well presented, The windows have probably not been cleaned since installation leading to the requested sea view being some what obscured! No car parking facilities at all, so parking available in council roadside at £5.50 for 4 hours, though free between 4pm till 10am, assuming you can find a space, We have stayed in other Hotels in the past in LLandudno, we appreciate that they are all Victorian / Edwardian properties and require a lot of love and attention, some properties obviously receiving more than others, it would appear that, I`m sorry to say` the supposed `Grand`est is receiving the least. This despite the high turnover of Guests. I believe our experience of "The Grand Hotel" fell very short of our expectations and has left us very disappointed considering the price we paid for our 49th Wedding Anniversary accomodation !
