Nice room. Slightly small just room to walk around bed. Staff were all great. Nice food. Our Sunday roast could have been warmer. Good breakfast and lovely dining areas.

Liked: Cleanliness
Arrived late afternoon on Sunday evening. Unfortunately I was left standing with all bags at room reception desk until I must have given someone a look.
A lady, whom I think was the manager, was attentive and explained everything and checked me in. However it was obvious she was running around trying to sort everyone and everything. But I was checked in and happy to go to my room. Room was really nice.
Decided to have quick shower to get ready for dinner. Unfortunately the shower filled up very quickly and had to rush before it overflowed onto the bathroom floor!
Down at dinner I was sat down quickly enough and ordered my meal. It came out quickly and was nice. However, once again, after finishing I was left sitting on my own with eaten food in front of me for nearly 20 minutes. It felt I was just left. I wasn't asked about another drink, or even dessert.
After enough waiting I decided to go to the bar area and ask for a drink and bill (I didn't want to wait any more for dessert). Whilst waiting in the queue at the bar, the original lady who checked me in spotted and asked if I wanted anything. She came with my coffee and bill straight away (thank god for her!).
Went back to room and slept in the comfy bed. However 0530 I was woken up by a swinging door that needs oiling slamming away over and over. It sounded like it was below the room. That was it, off to the blocked shower again before work.
Breakfast was completely different. Service was great. Easy and good food
Very clean, lovely staff, good food options. We stayed 3 nights and should have booked a bigger room rather than standard but facilities great. Parking was busy on the Friday and Saturday for people using the restaurant but still got a space and parking is free!
We had a very enjoyable stay at The Castle Hotel. Caroline, Dom and all the team were very friendly and welcoming.
The Castle is spacious, immaculately kept and well managed. Our bedroom was large and comfortable with everything we could need.
Highly recommended.
Property well maintained and clean ,however, my room 23 was subject to noise till midnight from what may have been a generator, plus bottles being put out in bins. The rip off price of £4.90 for a bottle of Harrogate still water for my room meant I gave no further business for food apart from 2 continental breakfasts The shower was very sliippery and the hotel is aware of this as it has a small notice in the bathroom advising to request a bathmat, This mat should be available in the bathroom without having to ask for one. I have contacted GK separately .
Room was quite small and no room for placement of suitcases. No air conditioning only a small desk fan so room became hot as it got the sun all day. Only a small top opening window to allow air in, but at night you had to close curtains due to large flood lights in carpark which also reflected off the bedroom mirror. So room became very stifled. Staff very friendly and food was nice
Absolutely lovely, the food was lush and the couple that run it are lovely, the service from staff was excellent. We are down this way a few times a year we will definitely be back. Thanks Michelle ☺️
